From Cluj we drive to Turda, the place where youll put your existence to the test! Here youll descend into the heart of one of the biggest salt mines in the country Turda Salt Mines. DAY 7, Friday, November 2, Poiana Brasov Sibiu Youll travel today to Sinaia, the pearl of mountain resorts in Romania visit Peles Castle, one of the most beautiful royal residences in Europe. The custodians report a strange smell of violets whenever the ghost of the Queen Maria (the niece of Queen Victoria of Great Britain) returns to her beloved playground. After departing Bucharest the first stop of the itinerary is Sinaia, the "Pearl of the Carpathians" with its masterpeice, Palace of Peles. The next day we will head deep into the legend of Dracula, and the Transylvania region. Our first stop is the vibrant city of Brasov with Saxon routes and is a must see. Departing Brasov, we will move onto Sibiu, which is considered one of the most beautiful cities on all of Transylvania. On the way we will stop for a visit of the famous Bran Castle, home to the legend of Dracula. Continuing the following day on the path of Saxon Fortified Chruches Valea Viilor and Biertan (the largest one) both UNESCO heritage monuments. Sighisoara, which is one of the best preserved medieval citadels in all of Europe and also home to the birthplace of the real life Dracula Vlad Tepes.

Maramures Wooden ChurchesThen we head to the beautiful Maramures region, and the world renown wooden churches. Continuing to visit the "Merry Cemetery" in Sapanta, famed for their enlightening engravings. In Maramures we will also see the Museum of the Romanian Peasant, describing in full detail the life of the areas locals. See more examples of the exquisite woodwork, as well as the famous Egg Painters of Romania.

Bucovina Paitined MonasteryContinuing to Bucovina, and the UNESCO designated, and world famous Painted Monasteries. The most famous of the region Voronet has been called the Sistine Chapel of the East, and once you see these magnificent Frescos, you will fully understand why. While here, on request, we can arrange a traditional dinner, and folklore show at the guesthouse. After we will return to Bucharest via Brasov to end your UNESCO heritage tour of Romania.

We depart from Bucharest with the first stop of this tour is in Sinaia. Here you will get a chance to visit the breathtaking Palace of Peles. Continuing to Brasov, the historical center of Transylvania. Here you will have a chance to visit its old quarter and Black Church.

Next on the itinerary is the famous Bran Castle. Often referred to as Dracula's Castle, this fact is disputed by Sighisoara Dracula and Transylvania Tourhistorians as it is said the Prince may have stayed here 1 night during an attack. Despite this Bran Castle is one of the most picturesque castles in Transylvania, sitting on hilltop with beautiful views.

After onto Bistrita is where Bram Stoker based the setting for his novel Dracula. First stop on the itinerary is Sinaia where you will get a chance to visit it's the impressive Palace of Peles. Once a royalty residence, set amongst the hills with breathtaking views.
