Great Hostel Excellent Hostel. Have stayed there many times. Service, fascillities, location, price ect. are great. Took a tour to Banff from the Hostel. Great trip and we saw a mother Grizzly bear with 3 cubs along the road to Morrain Lake. Too bad I didn't have my camera ready. Great place to get city and travel information, and to meet new people; acivities are fun too. |

The hostel itself was only ok - though the warnings about sex in the halls and drug use were scary. What was worse was the location. I have never seen so many naaaasty people hanging around the area as is Calgary. Yuck. In a few short hours were were asked a nulber of times to give money to beggars. In addition, we witnissed a drug deal right next to the hostel. For 65 CAD for 2, we expected much more. Next time I will pay 100 CAD to feel safe in a real hotel. |
