All of us at Desafio Adventure Company are bird-enthusiasts. Whether you're doing a volcano hike, river tracing along of canyon, mountain biking or rafting, we're bound to make...
a point of showing off our amazing birdlife in Costa Rica -- it's not unusual to see a Keel-Billed toucan, a Montezuma Oropenula or a Laughing Falcon along the way. But for you hard-core birders, we have a special team of birding experts to take you out to some of our favorite spots.
Depending upon the season and the best birding options, we sometimes head up near the Arenal Volcano by the Arenal Lake, other times we visit the El Silencio Nature Reserve or Finca Luna
Nueva for its amazing concentation of birdlife or other local private reserves.
The elusive tropical birds of Costa Rica are best spotted in the wee hours of the morning. In this case, the early bird catches the bird!
Your naturalist guide will take you on an informative walk to see a wide-array of exotic, tropical birds of Costa Rica from toucans, parrots, oropendolas, colorful tanagers and parakeets.
So, if you are a more-serious birdwatcher, your guide will use his eagle-eyes to spot Royal Flycatchers, White-fronted Nunbirds, Cinnamon Woodpeckers and other more-difficult-to-see bird species in Costa Rica. Your guide will follow-up with you by checking the Costa Rica bird guidebook and discussing
the birds you saw that morning. Since there are a reported 840 or so species of birds in Costa Rica, you're bound to come away with a bountiful list of Costa Rica birds!Send An E-Card
