Accommodations

Our parlor and library offer the perfect settings for relaxing conversation with friends old and new. The large wrap-around porch lined with rockers, comfy chairs and little tables for your wine, cheese and other goodies, draws you outside to relax and enjoy the perennial gardens and 300+ year-old oak trees.

Our air-conditioned inn is open year round. Our lodging accommodations feature six guestrooms, which present a perfect blend of antique furnishings and modern amenities to provide a welcoming environment for your stay.

Meticulous landscaping, lovely gardens, a fishpond, and a large brick terrace offer a serene hideaway where guests can sit, relax, and visit or read a book. The Garden Cottage and gazebo complete the picturesque scene.

The entire history of the house is steeped in romance. The inn was built in the late 1800s by Major W.L. Pierce for his bride, Julia. Seven Pierce offspring were born here. Julia, who devoted her entire life to the keeping of her wedding gift, enjoyed the house until her death at the age of 99.

Featured in more than two-dozen magazine articles and the TV series “Inn Country USA”, The Oaks Victorian Inn was selected for the cover of three books, including the travel guide to inns, published by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Several of our guestrooms have fireplaces and Jacuzzis. The Major Pierce Room features his and hers bathrooms with a 100+ year-old claw-foot soaking tub. If you are a guest in the Garden Cottage, enjoy a soak in your private hot tub followed by a dry steam in your sauna for two.

Policies & Restrictions

Smoking is only permitted on the covered porch & grounds away from any entrances to the main house or the cottage. Smoking in the inn or a guest room is considered damage and a fee of up to $300 may be charged to remove smoke residue and odor. This includes vapes.
Check-in is between 4:00-6:00 p.m. Please notify the innkeeper if you anticipate arriving late.
Check-out is by 11:00 a.m.
The hours between 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. are reserved for housekeeping, errands for the inn and personal appointments. Requests for early check-ins can not always be accommodated, but if we are able to rearrange our schedule a $25 per hour charge (not pro-rated and not refundable if you do not arrive earlier as planned) will be applied to your bill.
Guests ages 12 years or older are welcome to stay. As much as we love small children, our setting is not appropriate for them.
We are unable accommodate pets of any sort. There is a kennel just 5 minutes from the inn where you can board your dog or cat. Please ask the innkeeper for more information.
A deposit of one night’s lodging is required for all reservations. Stays of 4 nights or more require a 50% deposit.
We accept Discover, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cash, and personal checks.
A two-night minimum stay is required for Special Event weekends, Radford graduation, holidays and October weekends. A three-night minimum stay is required for Virginia Tech graduation.
Football weekend rates are listed on our reservation page for Friday/Saturday nights. If you book Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday your reservation will be adjusted to reflect the Friday/Saturday rates and football cancellation rules will apply as well.
Business travelers, please inquire about corporate rates.
Oaks Gift certificates available.
A max of $500 BedandBreakfast gift cards may used per stay. Order numbers and certificate numbers must provided when booking to be honored.
Only paid, registered guests are allowed in the guestrooms, unless alternative arrangements are made with the innkeepers in advance.
The Oaks is an old house and for safety reasons candle burning is not permitted in the guest rooms.
Rates are double occupancy and include a complimentary full breakfast. There is a $30.00 charge for an extra person in the room per night. Not all rooms can accommodate a third person. Please consult with the Innkeepers for additional information.

Cancellation Policy:

As a small Inn, cancellations significantly impact our business. After you have made your reservation, you will receive an e-mail confirmation (or a written letter, if requested). Once your reservation is confirmed, the room(s) reserved cannot be booked by another guest. When you make a reservation, you agree to the following cancellation policy. Cancellations are subject to a $25.00 processing fee. If notice of cancellation is received 7 days in advance for weeknights (Sunday-Thursday nights) and 14 days in advance for weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) and holidays, deposits will be cheerfully refunded less a $25.00 processing fee. Thereafter, you will be responsible for your entire reservation unless the room(s) is reserved by another party. This includes early departure for a multi-night stay. A 30-day advance notice of cancellation is required for special events, football games and graduation. There is a non-refundable deposit required for all football games.
