At the heart of North County Cork, just 6km from Mallow and Set in 500 acres of wooded estate lies Longueville House (c1720) listed country house steeped in history and character is owned and run by William & Aisling O’Callaghan, your hosts.
The hotel, which has won a host of awards over the years, offers guests the warmest of welcomes and relaxed, home-from-home atmosphere.
Beautifully maintained over many years and generously proportioned Longueville is sumptuous, inviting and lived-in. With comfortable bedrooms (free from the intrusion of televisions) and modern bathrooms, luxury toiletries, fluffy cotton towels and pressurised hot water, every comfort is assured. When they arrive, guests will find open log fires and rooms adorned with family antique collections and fresh garden flowers.

On the estate, guests can enjoy private salmon & brown fishing on the River Blackwater, simulated clay shooting, a range of cross country hikes, May dawn chorus Walks and October Mushroom Hunts. Nearby, Guests may pass the time horse riding, mountain biking and hiking. Mallow also serves as a great base for exploring highlights of the region, including Cork City, Blarney, Killarney, Dingle Peninsula and Ring of Kerry.
At the heart of Longueville is The Presidents’ Restaurant, with a menu offering the freshest produce and imaginative dishes from the gardens & farm, and the kitchen is supervised by internationally commended chef/patron William O’Callaghan. Almost all of the food is sourced within Longueville, prepared from scratch and cooked to order, a field to fork policy thus guaranteeing a unique and memorable dining experience.
Longueville is very proud of the fact that much of their meat and game is reared on their farm on site. William oversees the gardens and farm ensuring that ingredients such as free range woodland pork, spring lamb, woodcock, snipe, pheasant & duck come straight from the estate, depending on the season. Fresh River Salmon and Brown Trout are available again when in season, coming straight from The Blackwater River. All the vegetables, oriental greens, herbs and much of the summer and autumn fruit come from the three-acre walled kitchen garden and poly-tunnels on the east side of the house, carefully toiled by gardeners as well as an army of ducks that patrol the walled garden to keep the slugs at bay! The busy Longueville bees live in the orchards producing honey for the house and the hens lay fresh eggs daily. The fact is that Longueville House has been self sufficient for a long time - way before it became the trend. All dietary requirements imaginatively catered to with a little notice. Longueville accepts small pets by prior arrangement.

In addition there is a 25 acre apple orchard from which a craft apple cider is produced, known simply as Longueville House Cider. In addition an apple brandy is also distilled on site called Longueville House Apple Brandy and made in the Calvados style. Both of these beverage products are for sale on site, nationwide and will soon be shipped for export.
