surmounted by a crest, another larger quadruple French door and, higher up, a graceful window looking out onto the street.

Monpazier is a "living" village and consequently has a complete range of shops:alimentation
(fruit, vegetables and groceries), butchers, charcuteries (delicatessens), fromageries (cheese), patisseries (pastries), boulangeries (bread), tabacs, newsagents, bookshops, cafés, bars, restaurants, pharmacies, ice-creameries, antiques shops, electrical goods shops and much more are all within two minute's walk from your door.
Sports and Leisure Activities
Swimming, cycling, canoeing, fishing, horse riding, walking and visiting local wineries and restaurants are just a few of the leisure activities available.
We also have an arrangement with the English owner
of the nearby Restaurant des Sources de la Brame - an old converted mill on the Dropt River, whereby our guests may use their (rather sumptuous) swimming pool by paying a small surcharge ($2) on the first drink purchased at the restaurant bar.
FACILITIES IN THE HOUSES
Each house has all the things you would expect in your own home. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge, dishwasher, and stove. There are basic cooking supplies such as condiments and other non-perishables in the cupboards: you are welcome to use these but we request that you replace them when they are running out. The laundry has a washing machine and drying cabinet.
The telephone can be used for receiving all calls and for making local calls. If you need to make International calls you should take your Telecard with you.
For entertainment there are some books in English, a radio-cassette, a television with satellite connection and some tapes and CDS supplied.
It is nice to stay in and relax with these pastimes sometimes after a busy day of being "out and about".
New things to see and do nearby
Guests at our houses have a better opportunity to seek out those places and events in the vicinity that are not part of the usual tourist trek. Spending more time in one place allows you to make some genuine discoveries and there are two helpful resources you can take advantage of: our visitor's book and the local "Office de Tourisme". At the Tourist office, where many staff speak English, you will find an abundance of maps and leaflets on local points of interest, cultural events and traditional fêtes and festivals. The Visitor's book in each house contains many recommendations by previous guests - please read them and feel free to add your own ideas.
