Black Sheep Touring Company specialises in guiding small flexible personalised group tours throughout New Zealand. Our Experience tours combine fine dining and luxury accommodations. Our Adventurer tours offer modern accommodations which serve as comfortable, convenient bases while out exploring. Whale Watching in Kaikoura

Typical Day

We start the day with a hearty, cooked breakfast...great fuel for the activities of the day to come. Depending on where we are in the country we then offer you a stunning range of activities that may be as active as swimming with seals or visiting an active volcano, or as tranquil as perusing the national museum, Te Papa. We always have daily options so your personal and specific needs can be met. On our Experience tours, dinner is usually a la carte at some of the finest restaurants. Adventurer tours reflect self-selected dining. This is a great time to reflect on the day and swap stories with your fellow travelers over a glass of excellent local wine. Later that night you will relax in your accommodations, each carefully chosen to reflect the character of the region you are visiting.

Interacting with Nature

Age range, type of group

Our guests usually fall into the 30 - 75 age range. Experience tours appeal to the travel connoisseur who are savvy travelers who love intimate interaction with their surroundings but prefer not to deal with the hassles of organising their own trip. They enjoy the good things of life but love to get out and experience things first hand.Great food, great wine, great activities, great locations, great company, and great service are the hallmarks of these all-inclusive tours.
Adventurer tours are for the young and young at heart. Perfect for active travelers who enjoy the convenience, camaraderie and enriched experience of guided, small-group travel. Shorter itineraries, the use of comfortable, mid-range accommodation and self-selected dining, mean one can sample some of New Zealand's best features in a way that fits a variety of travel needs and budgets.
Both love to be enriched with information, culture and history about the country they are in and enjoy the personalized interaction they share with our guides.

Sailing in the Abel Tasman

Sleeping and meals

We believe that dining is an integral part of the traveling experience. On Experience tours our dinners are mostly a la carte in some of the best restaurants available. Local complimentry wine is served with the meals and lunches are often picnics, enjoyed in the outdoors at various stunning locations. Breakfast is a cooked affair on both tour types and our guides are there to help with dining recommendations and bookings on our Adventurer tours.
