There are a couple of good, private museum collections in Miraflores. The Enrico Poli Museum has one of the best private collections of archaeological artefacts in Lima, although it is rather expensive. The Museo Amano has a good collection of textiles, mainly from the Chancay culture.
Miraflores' only important mansion open to the public is the Casa de Ricardo Palma, at General Suarez where Palma, probably Peru's greatest historian, lived for most of his life. .Worth visiting also in Miraflores is the Parque del Amor, which features a prominent statue of two lovers in a passionate embrace.
The historic cathedral is well worth seeing The coffin or rather coffins of Francisco Pizarro, the Spanish conqueror of Peru may also be seen in the cathedral. His head is reported to be in a separate casket laid alongside .
