Golden Dorado Expeditions:

The Freshwater Golden Dorado is the most important predator fish of the Paraná River system. It’s a salmon-like fish, with a golden, yellowish color, highly muscular with a big head, which has powerful jaws and sharp teeth. It is an extremely voracious and aggressive creature that feeds on small and large fish. It is the biggest predator of the area and it is well known as the “River Tiger”, because of the furious fight that he develops after being caught by the fisherman. Average weight varies from 4 to 8 kg (9 to 18 lb.), but it is possible to find preys that reach over 20 kg. (45 lb.).

Throughout much of its range, the Dorado is caught in colored or murky waters and generally with heavy spinning tackle.
This complex fish can be found near confluences, on edges of eddies, riffles, sharp bends in the current, and close to overhanging carpets of water hyacinth. It can be fished in narrow runs or on skinny water. Large fish have been hooked in the deep runs as well, so let your guide show you the multitude of ever-changing locations where you can make contact with these fish.

Your guides will be trained, professional, shallow-water specialists. All will be able to offer tips on how to best fish each area, as well as which fly or lure and presentation should work best depending on the conditions. Do follow their advice; they are a first class team with impressive knowledge of Dorado fishing. They are there to make your fishing more productive and enjoyable.

The hook-set for Dorado is similar to that of many saltwater fish such as bonefish or tarpon. Simply raising the rod will not do the trick. A good, solid strip-strike is key in hooking this fish. The guides will be more than happy to instruct you on the most successful techniques.

Patagonia Trout Expeditions:

Argentina’s Anglers offers the most demanding fishermen the trip of a lifetime. Enjoy the best rivers and lakes of Patagonia within private properties and National Park. You will have the opportunity to fish the best trout and salmons very close to your luxurious fishing lodge.
Patagonia, one of the most extensive unspoiled areas on the planet, has large glacier lakes and rivers with rapids of cold, clear waters. Fed by the heavy snowfalls in the Andes, these waters provide rich fishing grounds for rainbow, brown, sea run, and brook trout, amid scenery of spectacular beauty. Most of these fishing spots are located within national parks, and their headwaters are in the heights of the imposing Patagonian Andes with their volcanoes, deep valleys and glaciers. Patagonia offers fishing enthusiasts the privacy of a preserved environment, while Argentine hospitality makes visits to this beautiful region of the country an unforgettable experience.

Our staff is integrated by experienced and professional fly fishing guides equipped with very advanced gear in terms of drift boats, pontoon boats, engine boats, off road vehicles and so on.

In order to select the best freshwater fly fishing options, Argentina’s Anglers has specifically designed different fly fishing packages according to your skills, preferences, and time of the season in order to suite every angler (novice, intermediate, advanced or really expert). This flexibility contributes to give us the capacity, in terms of logistic, to obtain better results, whether the client is looking for trophy steelheads, amazing and unique sea run brown trout (area of Rio Grande), or looking for Rainbow and brown trout monsters in a typical Patagonian river or spring creek.
