The city of Cienfuegos is located in the south-central region of the island and was founded and named after French settlers from Bordeaux, Philadelphia and Louisiana. The colony of Fernandina de Jagua was founded in 1819 and became a town in 1829 and a city in the year 1880. Cienfuegos is known as the Pearl of the South or the beautiful city of the sea, and even one of its most famous singers Famous, the sonero mayor Benny Moré, defined it with pride like "the city that I like more".

The Villa Mirty house is located in Punta Gorda, in Cienfuegos, in a privileged position very close to the Malecón de Cienfuegos, the main streets of the city and the main tourist attractions of the city. It only takes a few minutes to walk to these places. This house was built in 1950 as a beach house but the family definitely moved to live in the house in 1962. The house was completely renovated, maintaining the style of the '50s and incorporating facilities to increase the comfort of the guests.
