Flotilla holidays You first meet your fellow sailors and lead boat crew at a welcome get together where there is a chat about the yachts and their equipment. Also covered will be the flotilla route, a few quirks of Mediterranean sailing and mooring techniques. Having spent the first night aboard at our flotilla base, the flotilla is ready to sail the following day. During the first few days the lead boat remains with the fleet, meeting each morning for a chat to describe destinations. Some days are gentle, with perhaps only three or four hours sailing, others have longer passages, facing brisk afternoon winds.
Whether you choose to sail alone or in company, you are not expected to follow the lead boat like ducklings. The day is yours to potter, anchor, swim or explore. The lead boat is contactable by VHF radio or GSM telephone. Each evening you moor at a new destination where there is usually a taverna to meet for drinks and a meal. Alternatively, you can explore independently.
Villa Flotilla holidays First week you stay in a hotel and take a yachting course, 2nd week sail a yacht on flotilla. The lead boat is always at hand to offer assistance and brief you each morning as to that evening's port of call.
