Murray House: It's a Special Place - Reviews

The Murray House is a true gem tucked away in Newport. We discovered it a few years ago and have returned here ever since. This is the place for us and I would highly recommend the Murray House to anyone planning a trip to Newport. We love that Noreen graciously accepts pets and if you are a pet owner this is kind of place you wish you came across more often. If you are not a pet owner, there are many other reasons to stay here. The rooms are charming, private and very clean (not to fear: NO evidence of four legged guests). The rooms include a kitchen area with a stovetop, fridge and dining area; perfect for morning tea/coffee, snacks or wine. The location is fantastic- minutes from town but far enough to enjoy the tranquil grounds and peaceful setting (including fenced in yard, koi fish pond and pool). Just down the road is a pristine beach we love to take our dog to and there is access to both the Cliff Walk and Ocean Drive. I cannot mention the Murray House without adding that Noreen does a phenomenal job as your hostess. If you have any questions or need travel advice, she is always eager to help. Whenever I contact her, she responds quickly and is a wealth of information. She makes each and every guest (human and furry) feel very welcome and at home. When you go out at night, you will return to find a light on for you. When you leave for the day, you come home to a fresh clean room. Noreen goes above and beyond and her personal touches truly make the Murray House stand out above all the rest. This is our home away from home in Newport and we look forward to each and every stay!

My boyfriend and I, along with our chihuahua Mille stay at Murray House EVERY year, and each time we are treated like family. Noreen is wonderful and the rooms are clean and cozy. If you are traveling with a pet this is the place to stay. It's quiet and peaceful and if you stay in the Summer the pool is a wonderful treat! Murray House is the way to go if you are staying in Newport!

Had a perfect stay at Murray House where Noreen and staff made it even better. Attention to every detail, especially clean and friendly. Beautiful space to just stay put and do nothing if you wish to do nothing at all.

The Best of it ALL in Newport Rhode Island
Murray House Bed and Breakfast introduced to me a fabulous combination of elegance and affordability. The French Cuisine was phenomonal and the decor was a pure delight to return to after a delightful day in a delightful area. So close to everything you feel a part of the history that Newport, Rhode Island offers. The pool, hot tub, and amenities were short of nothing and the treatment from Noreen was undoubtedly a TREAT! I do feel I now have a new friend! She was helpful regarding restaurants, boat tours, and many options in the immediate area! The Cliff Walks were so accessible and what a BREATHTAKING JOY! The meals were unique and so delicious with the European flare. I highly recommend Murray House Bed and Breakfast and will be returning as well as taking others that I care about to ENJOY!

Staying at Murray House is truly a relaxing and fabulous experience. Noreen is a gracious host; the grounds are beautiful; breakfast is the best; and it is close to everything. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Newport. I only wish I could go once a month!
