Sicily - Horse Riding and Activity Holidays - Reviews

My boyfriend and I spent an amazing day with Mark. We stopped in Palermo on a cruise in January and Mark picked us up from the port and drove us to the stables while providing lots of interesting facts about Sicily. We went on a scenic 2 hour hack on Ambrogio and Saskia - both responsive and forward going. Then we had a delicious 3 course lunch including martinis, wine and coffee, on the terrace in the Sicilian sunshine, followed by a return transfer to the ship. We were well looked after by Mark, Raz and Pippa, and enjoyed the riding, food and beautiful countryside. We plan to return!

My wife, two teen-age sons and I stayed with Mark, Pippa and Raz at Pippa's Paddock this August. It was a superb trip! Mark was thoughtful, attentive and went the extra mile to make sure our trip was fantastic. The accommodations were comfortable and we enjoyed the informal meals, both at the Paddock and local restaurants. The horses were lively and well behaved. We all felt that the lunch ride to Todi's farm and the village ride were the highlights of the trip. In the afternoons Mark took us to see beautiful villages and towns, places we never would have found on our own. We look forward to many future trips to Sicily and Pippa's Paddock.

The place to be if you are a lover of horseback riding in the beautiful sicilian countryside.It has all the italian charm, great atmosphere, but is well organised. Mark from Malta runs it with his daughter Pippa and Raz from the UK helps them.

Just imagine: preparing the horses in the morning, having a beautiful ride on a relaxed forward horse for a couple of hours through the fields passing a quaint village, coming back home having a nice lunch, sitting on the terrace in the sun with a great view sipping your wine, stroking the dogs....
If this doesn't appeal to you? Don't go, But otherwise you'll come back once you went there. Like we did.

We (My husbond, my daughter and me) spend I week with Mark and Pippa on their farm in Sicily and we had a very nice week. They are the perfect hosts and combined ridning, sightseeing and dinning in the right balance. It can be summed up to great riding and great food !

This holiday provided the perfect combination of riding and local food and sites. We couldent have asked for better hosts and nothing was to much trouble. The horses were just right for what we needed, forward going for the more experanced and safe and steady for the less confident. From the moment we arrived we dident have to worry about anything.

I spent a perfect holiday here in May (2012) with my friends. Our holiday was so perfect, that we returned in September :). We are adult riders who enjoy long rides in a beautiful surroundings with well schooled horses, but we also wish to get to know about the place and the country we are in and explore it. Here we got it all and more. In the mornings we rode out always with a different route and in the evenings we were taken to see different places of interest and to dine. There were lot`s to see and the food was absolutely divine! The holiday was sooo easy (you only have to show up at an airport in Sicily, and Mark will take care of all the rest) and relaxing, and yet exciting and interesting! We really felt more like house guests than occasional tourists. Now I`m preparing myself for the long winter at home in Finland, but luckily I have more than 2000 pictures from our two holidays in Alia this year to escape the reality with :) . We`ll return again some year, that`s for sure…
