I made a big expedition that crossed the central mountain range of Guadalcanal and followed the whole of the southern Weather Coast. This combined route is some of the most wild and untamed jungle wilderness that the Pacific has to offer. Absolutely stunning.
This is a must do for any one with a streak of the adventurous spirit in them. It can be really tough in the mountains, so it is not for the faint hearted. Similarly, as a cultural experience, there are no frills, so be prepared. But you will be taken care of exquisitely and with the kindness and charm that only Melanesians can give you.
The Weather coast is wild, but, obviously, pretty flat, so this is a great route to combine with the mountains. The village stays all over Guadalcanal are a really exciting. An absolute must.

I am the firstto write here. I was excited before to see the house i lived in this year. It was such a wonderful stay on the weathercoast at the same island than Honiara.
I you look for a unique experience and wonderful nature, friendly people and good food. MM the food Florence and evelyn will make at the village Nduidui it is so good. I got also much cooking lessons, because i liked to hang around in the kitchen house.
Unfortanatelly there was really bad weather at the weathercoast when I was there. But did not matter.
Go for it.
