A 4 day, 3 night adventure of a lifetime on a covered wagon and horse trek through pristine country near Yellowstone National Park and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Folks from 4 to 85 years have enjoyed our western hospitality and return time again as we canoe on high mountain lakes, ride horses through historic and scenic country, trek together like pioneers in covered wagon and receive visit from the Pony Express, Indians and a Mountain Man. We can match the skills of any person from beginner to the experienced outdoorsman and families are welcome. We provide all gear needed except for personal clothing. Package deals are available that include the Teton Wagon Train, whitewater rafting, and a tour of Yellowstone National Park, just to name a few of the activities.
A typical day on the Teton Wagon Train begins a hearty breakfast for everyone in camp. including the stock. After we rest up a bit, we pack up camp and move to our next scenic campground. Guest can choose to ride in the wagons, on the horses or hike along for exercise. After arriving, we take a few minutes to set up camp and then folks can take a trail ride, go canoeing, go for a hike, take a restful nap, or just enjoy the beauty around them. After a delicious dutch oven dinner, the evening is spent riding or relaxing. Throughout the day, guests can take advantage of learning how to saddle, harness and drive horses. We having riding horses and large draft horses for pulling the wagons. As you see another beautiful sunset, we gather around the campfire for western stories and songs along with a little treat to finish the day.
Folks of all ages have enjoyed trekking with the cowboys of the Teton Wagon Train. With a minimum ages of 4 years old, we have many families and couples join us on the trail. Seniors also have a great time reliving bygone days and making new memories. At the end of the trip, we induct you into the Double H Bar Ranch Family and give you our cowboy send-off. Great friendships are made with people from all over the world and make folks exchange addresses and phone numbers in order to keep in touch.
Guests can choose to sleep in 3 man "cowboy teepees", out under the stars or in our covered wagons that convert into beds. Comfortable 3 inch pads are provided along with very large, warm sleeping bags. Delicious meals are prepared by our western cooks in dutch ovens over a campfire. The menu is varied and there is always plenty to eat. Buffalo stew, barbecued chicken, roast beef, taco salad, french toast, bacon, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns and varied assortment of fruits and vegetables are just a few of the menu items.
Minimum age on the Teton Wagon Train is 4 years old and no pets are allowed. Due to insurance requirements and a family atmosphere, alcoholic beverages are strongly discouraged.
