Carrowong Fauna Sanctuary in the rainforest just outside of Kuranda is quite unique. This 90 acres is completely surrounded by World Heritage rainforest and is dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of endangered North Queensland wildlife. This unlogged rainforest also gives guests a memorable experience in a pristine area unspoilt by outside inteference. Our continual hands on preservation efforts make us unique among other tour operators. The property was specifically purchased to provide the endangered southern cassowary and other endemic species with an uninterrupted biologically diverse habitat. We offer Wildlife Safaris and Nocturnal Walks daily from Cairns. Profits from our tours over the years have gone directly back into habitat conservation.
