Munden House, the lovely country home of Sylvia and Joe Benjamin is in Dorset,which has been described as the most beautiful unknown county of England. Ideally situated for walkers, golfers, cyclists, antique collectors and garden lovers.
Munden House is situated in the Blackmore Vale in Dorset, the south west of England. It has uninterupted views of some of the most beautiful countryside in England. We are less than three miles from the centre of the historic town of Sherborne, with its abbey dating from the eighth century, and two castles. originally the homes of Sir Walter Raleigh. Within thirty minutes one can reach the south coastand enjoy many beaches and fishing harbours. The Georgian City of Bath and the beautiful cathedrals of Salisbury, Exeter and Wells are all within an hours drive, as is Stonehenge.
The house dates in part from the fifteenth century and is built around a courtyard with seven letting bedrooms. All are en-suite and luxuriously furnished and decorated. All overlook the lovely gardens and surrounding countryside.
The dining room has soaring beamed ceilings and adjoins the guest's drawing room, where sherry is served in the evenings.
All rooms are en suite. There are two twin bedrooms, and four double bedrooms, one with a four poster bed. Each bathroom has a bath and shower.There is also a self contained studio with its own kitchenette and shower room. There are television, tea and codffe making facilities and trouser presses in each room.
With notice we arrange Baby sitting services with trained nannies. Shiatsu massage Reflexology and aromatherapy massage. Facials, manicures and pedicures.
The house is a non smoking house. We prefer no pets but arrangements can be made in special circumstances. We have facilities for babies if notice is given beforehand.
