Harmonia is a small and homely guest house located right in the heart of the famous Ipanema district. Just 3 blocks from the beach and only a stone's throw away from bars and restaurants, the location is perfect. Ipanema is also one of Rio's safest areas.
If you stay with us you will get the best tips and advice in a cosy environment where stories can be swapped and friendships made.
Combined with this welcoming and friendly atmosphere, the house is clean and tidy, with good facilities.
We have 3 mixed dorms with 4 or 6 beds, all with fans and one with AC. There are 3 bathrooms with hot showers.
We have no curfew.
A decent breakfast, free Wi-Fi and bed sheets are included in the price.
Portuguese, English & Swedish spoken.

From the International Airport, Tom Jobim (Galeão):
BUS: Take the REAL bus to Ipanema and get off at 'Sol Ipanema Hotel' located on the beach avenue. Walk 3 blocks up Rua Vinicius de Moraes or Rua Farme de Amoedo until you reach Rua Barão da Torre where we are located at number 175. The bus ride takes 1.5 hours and costs R$ 12
TAXI costs around R$ 120 and takes approx. 45 minutes. A cheaper alternative is to go outside the arrival hall and get a taxi either from the Aerotaxi or Aerocoop companies, they go on the meter and would charge max. R$ 70.
From Rio's bus station (Rodoviária-Novo Rio):
Bus with AC (R$ 5), company REAL (takes approximately 45mins), get off in Ipanema at Farme de Amoedo and walk up to Rua Barão da Torre. Taxi is around R$ 40 and is easy to take from the arrival hall where there is an organized taxi service at an affordable price.
When you arrive at Rua Barão da Torre N°175 there is a gate, during daytime it is open so just to put your hand inside and turn the knob, then walk to house 18 down on the left and ring the doorbell if the door is not open. If the gate is locked just ring the inter phone to the left (it says Harmonia casa 18 on it) and we come and open. Observe that there nowadays are plenty of home stays in our little street, all have Country Flags hanging outside, we have one flag and it´s Swedish (blue with a yellow cross).
