The Tucan Hotel is a clean, safe & comfortable budget hostel & hotel in the South Pacific area of Costa Rica. Tent camping and hammock rentals are available as well. Most rooms include hot water, air conditioning, basic furniture, and tiled floors. Walking distance to the beach, waterfalls, bank, supermarkets, restaurants & activities.

We are in central Uvita, Costa Rica. Walk to the BCR and keep walking down the road 90 meters from the BCR crossroads. You can't miss us! The Tucan Hotel will be on your right.

From San José -
BY CAR :
Take the Pacific Coast Road South. Jaco, Quepos,Dominical,Uvita.
Or: Take the Interamerican Highway south to San Isidro de El General, then the road southwest to Dominical, then the coast road south to Uvita. At BCR Bank take a leftt, 90 mtrs later on the right side there is the Tucan.
BY BUS - From San Jose: Direct buses SJ / Uvita leaves daily 6am and 3pm from Tracopa Station You can also catch any bus going to Neily or Palmar via Jaco and get off in Uvita where the bus stops at a Restaurant near the petrol station.
Other option:Musoc bus to San Isidro. The Musoc terminal is at Ave 20 y Calle Central. There is a bus every hour from 5:30 AM til 5:30 PM. It takes about 3,5 hrs. If you leave after 12:00 you will not be able to connect with the Uvita bus and will have to stay the night in San Isidro or take a taxi (about $50). In San Isidro walk 3 blocks south to the Uvita bus terminal. Ask anyone for directions. The bus to Uvita leaves at 9 AM and 4 PM and takes 2 hours. Uvita is quite an hour after Dominical and you get off the bus just after the Gas Station.
From Quepos (Manuel Antonio) -
BY CAR: From Quepos or Manuel Antonio, just take the Pacific coast road south past Dominical and into Uvita. At BCR Bank take a left, 90 mtrs later on the right side there is the Tucan.
BY BUS: - Take the Direct Uvita bus from Quepos 6.30am 9.30am 5.30pm or the bus coming from San Jose' 10.30 am 7pm
Or you can take the San Isidro bus to Dominical and change to the Uvita bus. The San Isidro bus leaves Quepos at 3:30 PM, takes about 1,5 hrs.The Uvita bus leaves Dominical at 5 PM takes about 1 hr
From Panama -Border
BY CAR: Take the Pacific Coast Road north to Uvita, at BCR Bank take a right, 90 mtrs later on the right side there is the Tucan.
BY BUS - Take the bus to Uvita. Get off at BCR. Walk down the road , 90 mtrs and you will find the Tucan on your right side.
From Puerto Jimenez (Corcovado) -
BY CAR: Head to Chacarita and go north on the Pacific Coast Road. In Uvita at BCR take a right and 90 mtrs on your right you'll find the Tucan.
BY BUS - Take the bus to Chacarita or Palmar and from there the bus to Uvita.
From the Caribbean -
You can go back to San José and follow the San José directions or you can go to Panama crossing the border at Sixaola and going on to Changanola. From there you take a bus over the mountains to David and then another bus to the border at Paso Canoas. (see Panama directions
