Al Sorat means "The Path", referring to the path of righteousness or goodness. The farm has been a haven of peace for visitors in the Abu Sir area for about 20 years, providing recreation such as horseback riding, as well as classes, relaxation, and a chance to enjoy the beauty of rural Egypt. Activities are for all skill levels and ages and include a pack of friendly dogs to cuddle.

We have many local families and groups who come to the farm to play, enjoy fresh farm cooking, and to unwind, as well as visitors from abroad. We do not offer accommodation but there are small hotels in the area. In the summer we have an above ground pool available.

Visits to the farm are good for any age group at all. Our animals are all human-friendly and love to visit. The horses have years of training to provide safety and fun for everyone.

There are a number of accommodation options available nearby, from a basic level country guesthouse used by Egyptologists working at Sakkara to a local country club/hotel to five star hotels in the Giza pyramids area about half an hour from here. We offer lunches ordered in advance that are created from local produce and the products of our farm.

This is a working farm in a rural setting and as such has a large animal population, including approximately fifteen dogs. The dogs are mainly baladi dogs with a few breeds mixed in. Being comfortable with dogs is important.

We advise wearing long comfortable pants and a tshirt that covers the arms to the elbows, partly in consideration for local custom and partly to protect from sun. We provide helmets and have half chaps. Comfortable shoes such as trainers are fine for riding if you don't bring riding boots.
