Our philosophy? Simple. Free filtered water, free tea and coffee, free internet, free wi-fi! Our listed price includes everything! Our exceptionally pleasant and helpful staff work 8 hour shifts (not 24!) and are ready to assist you with local information, ticket purchasing and any other advice.
There\'s over 220 square meters of \'space\' to enjoy at The Kosmonaut!
We have 8, 6 and 4 bed dormitories, with shared bathroom facilities. Our rooms are furnished with brand new steel Ikea bunks, mattresses and linen.
Our Kitchen is huge, fully functional and open all hours. We have a welcoming kitchen table, couches, computer with free internet and wi-fi access, coffee-machine, microwave, hotplate, fridge, free water cooler, and a selection of board-games and books to keep you occupied in the evening.
Customers can also enjoy a vast array of Soviet paraphernalia and other antiques and collectibles which give our hostel a \'museum\' like appeal you can touch!
We are the best located hostel in L\'viv, at no. 8 Tomashivskoho St. (Томашівського, 4), only 500 meters from the old town square, four minutes from the Mitskevych Monument and 2 km from the train station!
Our street is a hive of activity during the day, but is pleasantly peaceful during the night. The city's main pubs, clubs, restaurants, markets and landmarks are all within comfortable walking distance.
VISA SUPPORT
Citizens of the European Union, USA, Canada, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Andorra, Japan, Korea, Norway, Monaco or The Vatican City DO NOT require a visa for stays of up to 90 days in Ukraine.
All others, including Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Croatia etc. should contact us directly to arrange an invitation letter to take to your nearest Ukrainian Consulate or Embassy. Please allow at least 24 hours for us to send your invitation and at least a further 24 hours for consular procedure.

We advise you firstly to print our map in the photos section. It's in Cyrillic and Latin. With our central location, you can also find our street in all guidebooks.
From the TRAIN STATION, you can take the number 1 or 9 tram to Petra Doroshenka st. (Дорошенка), then walk back, turn left at Bankivska st., then take your first right and left again, on Lista St. Then turn your first right and again first left, on Chaikovskoho St. The next left is Tomashivskoho. Building no. 4 is on the left hand side about 40 meters down. Enter the door, take the stairs to the second floor, and choose the left door! Please note: trams cost 1,5 Ukrainian Hryvnia.
WALKING from the TRAIN STATION is quite easy and scenic too, it's only 2.6 km and takes about 35 minutes. Exit the train station, walk straight down Chernivetska St., turn left on to Horodotska, and right before the St. Elizabety church, turn right on Bandery St., walk about a kilometer and on the end a little bit left on Kopernyka. On the traffic lights turn right on Stefanyka St. and take the second left, Dudayeva. Then turn left on Tomashivskoho, and the second building on the right - it's the Kosmonaut!
NOTE: Tram tickets ('kvytok') are purchased on board from the driver and must be validated!
From the main BUS STATION, take 'Marshootka' (Small Bus for 1.75 UAH) number 31 to the center. Simply print our map and indicate our location to the driver or ask for 'Shevchenko Monument' which is on the main boulevard called 'Prospect Svobody'.
TAXIS from the train station are approximately 30 UAH and from the bus station 40 UAH. Negotiate the price prior to departure!
From the AIRPORT take trolley bus number 9 to Ivan Franko University, turn back on Stefanyka st. and take second left, Dudayeva. Then turn left on Tomashivskoho, and the second building on the right - it's the Kosmonaut!
Alternatively may take a taxi which should cost approximately 40 to 50 UAH. If taking a taxi, please remember to agree the prices PRIOR to departure!
