The Lavender is an alternative, quiet apartment like place in the city center .
We created a cozy special atmosphere in a historical building.
Every guest has own keys and can move compeletely free.
We specialized for 2 bed private rooms.It isn't a typical hostel atmosphere.The concept of the place is that we let rooms mainly for couples and single travelers. The feeling is like an apartment with free internet, community room and unique design
There have several bedrooms, 1 big very comfortable community room, kitchen, 3 bathrooms, 3 toilets.
Bedrooms and community rooms are non-smoking!
There is a comfortable special separeted smoking area.
Every private room can be locked safely.

DIRECTIONS
Arrival by train:
There are three main railwaystations called Keleti, Nyugati and Déli.
From Keleti train station take the Underground No 2(red line) Follow direction Deli trainstation,get off at Astoria(square),choose the direction to Museum Krt and find No. 37. the location of the hostel on the 3 rd floor.Push the dorbell :Lavender
From Nyugati take the metro nr 3(blue line) in direction KOBANYA KISPEST, get off KALVIN SQUARE(4 th stop)Find exit MUZEUM Krt(next to Tranzit cafe) .Find 37, opposite side to Nationale Museum.
From Déli trainstation we are about 10 minutes by metro & a little walk:
At the train station you'll find the metro entrance one level below. Buy a single ride ticket from the cashier and validate it before the escalator and take a metro. This is the terminal, so there is only one direction. Get off at Astoria (5 stops), then turn to the left when you reach the underground, then upstairs straight ahead exit. Now you should be on Múzeum krt., opposite of you there is a Burger King. Keep walking forward until the first corner to the left, where there is the green fence of the National Museum. The other side of the mai n road there is the hostel, located 37.
Please keep in mind that you have to use a ticket or pass to use public transportation. Tickets are available at yellow ticket-machines, newspaper-stores and metro offices. One single ticket costs 270HUF(1.25EUR). Those who don't use tickets can be fined by 6000HUF(24EUR).
2. Arrival by bus
From the International Coach Terminal 'Népliget' you can get into our hostel within 20 minutes by metro and an easy walk.
Please keep in mind that you have to use a ticket or pass to use public transportation. Tickets are available at yellow ticket-machines, newspaper-stores and metro offices. One single ticket costs 270HUF(1.25EUR). Those who don't use tickets can be fined by 6000HUF(24EUR).
From the bus terminal you can get to the metro through the underpass. Choose the one in direction to 'Újpest-Központ'. Get off at 'Kálvin tér' which is the 4th stop, then turn left right after the escalator. Walk straight ahead, then choose the left exit to upstairs (Múzeum krt.). THere is the National Museum(hughes white building.The other side there is the hostel located 37 on the third floor.
3. Arrival by plane
If you want to make your own way to get to the hostel, we would recommend you three other options from the airport, which is taxi, the airport-minibus service or public transportation.
Present days the cost of airport-minibus is 2490HUF(10EUR)/person for one way, which is worth if you have lots of luggages and you travel alone. Otherwise an official taxi can be cheaper, as they have fixed fares from the airport, and the taxi goes to one address, while the minibus delivers several passengers. If I convinced you about the comforts of use a taxi, please read the advices below about taxies.
By public transportation we are about a half hour using the airport-bus and metro from the airport.

Between the terminal 2 and 2A, there is a bus stop for the Airport-Bus, which is a service of the Budapest Transport Company known as BKV.
It is a public vehicle, so you should punch a ticket for using this transportation.
Tickets are available at newspaper-stores, metro stations, ticket-machines from the street and from the bus-driver in cases.
If you buy a ticket from the driver, please check if it wasn't validated before.
After getting on the bus please ensure you've punched your ticket, so you won't be fined. Ride on the bus until it lasts, then you'll be on 'Kõbánya-Kispest'.
Validate a new ticket again, then take a metro until 'Kálvin tér' (8th stop), then turn left right after the escalator. Walk straight ahead, then choose the left exit to upstairs (Múzeum krt.). 4. Whenever you want to take a taxi
Usually the taxies are not expensive, if I talk about the large companies. But you should definitely avoid private cabs, they are 'official pickpockets', they can ask horrible amounts for few kilometers. Usually it is cheaper if you call one by phone. Every taxi should have a fare list on the rear window.
