We enjoy a beautiful riverside setting, just a two minute drive (or ten minute walk) from the centre of town and a two minute drive to our rugged west coast beach. Doubles, twins, singles, as well as shared dormitories. All rooms have fully made-up beds with fresh linen and cozy duvets, and are beautifully
decorated with a Global Art theme. Full Central Heating throughout the hostel. We have a seperate TV lounge with extensive (free) movie collection and lots of quiet spaces if you need to escape. The showers are always hot, the kitchen always clean, the beds comfortable, the rooms quiet and spacious, and you can always count on good company and a great atmosphere. Global Village is a place that will inspire you to travel more.
Safe off-street parking.
Greymouths New World supermarket is just 400 metres away. Recreation Hotel (great west coast pub) 100 metres away. Aquatic centre 200 metres away.
Free kayaking on lake Karoro (a wetland reserve adjacent to hostel).

If you are using Public transport to get to Greymouth, we recommend Atomic Shuttles and West Coast Shuttle, who will drop you at the door of Global Village, and pick you up again when you are ready to leave. Not only that, they are also excellent value. Arriving by train or Intercity, you will have a 15-20 minute walk to Global Village, or a $5 taxi fare. Remember, the best travel experiences usually come with a little effort, and a bit of exercise never hurt anybody.................. So, if you need to make that little extra effort to get here, do it, you'll be glad you did! If your backpack is really heavy, give us a call and we may come down and collect you.
If driving, Global Village is situated 1km south of Greymouth town centre. From the south on SH6, turn left off SH6 at the Mobil service station/New World supermarket, then right, this is Cowper St. We are 400mtrs along on left. From the north, continue on SH6 bypassing main town centre, turn right into Franklin Street, just after fire station, then left onto Cowper Street. We are 200mtrs along on right with plenty of safe off -street parking.
