Casita de las Flores is San Miguel de Allende's lovely and affordable B&K (Bed & Kitchen), an alternative to expensive hotels and B&B's. The Casita is a charming little guest house located the Colonia Allende, a typical Mexican residential neighborhood, just a 15-20 minute stroll from the historic centro, and a ten minute walk from the Instituto Allende.
The Casita offers: • Five private rooms • Two full shared bathrooms • A fully equipped kitchen • Large, flower-filled patio with table, chairs and hammock
Nestled at the end of a privada, or private walkway, the Casita is a tranquil place, full of plants, flowers and sun. As all the rooms open onto a central courtyard, the Casita is also a great place to meet people with similar interests, to practice your Spanish, to write, paint or draw, to do yoga, or to just unwind.
We cater especially to travelers, adventurers and artists of all ages who are interested in visiting the real San Miguel de Allende, not a fancy gringo version of it. If this is you, the Casita is the perfect place to stay while pursuing your interests--be they Spanish, art, photography or jewelry classes, or just a relaxing vacation in one of Mexico's most beautiful and artistic towns.
Casita de las Flores is based on the concept of the European 'Pensione'--more private than a property and more personal and less expensive than a hotel. The kitchen and two bathrooms are shared, and it's not right in the center of town (which actually makes it quieter than more centrally located places), but the Casita is pretty, clean, comfortable, and a very good deal. (And cabs are inexpensive, if you don't feel like walking.)

Directions
Getting to San Miguel: By plane (two ways): One: fly into Leon, Guanajuato (BJX) (the airport is outside of the city, at Silao) and get a shuttle from the Leon airport into San Miguel de Allende. The shuttle takes about an hour and a half. Shuttle company: http://www.viajessanmiguel.com/ Two: fly into Mexico City. There is a first-class bus (it takes around 3 hours and costs around US $25.00 each way) that leaves just about every hour, directly from the Mexico City AIRPORT (so you don't have to mess around with Mexico city taxis and traffic and such), to Queretaro, where you can take an inexpensive bus to San Miguel (90 minutes). This is the least painful and least expensive way to get to SMA from Mexico City.
Getting to Casita de las Flores: By Shuttle: Viajes San Miguel will call us when you are nearly here so that we can be there to meet you. Doesn't hurt to remind them to call. By Bus: A five minute taxi ride from the bus station will get you to the Casita. Shouldn't cost much more than 40 pesos. By Car: Follow the map we send you to the meeting point and call us. We'll be there in 5 minutes to take you to the Casita.
***Please email us once you've reserved and we'll send a map and detailed, personalized arrival information, and we'll set up a time to meet you.
