Takadai, the comfort Japanese inn is located in the center of the historical Hagi City, in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Built in the Meiji era, 1878, and recently renewed, our hotel is a place where you can fully experience Japanese tradition. We are only 1 minute walk from the Hagi Bus Center, excellent access to many sightseeing spots.

The whole hotel is Japanese style. The entrance and lobby are decorated with bamboo and lanterns made of Japanese paper, very relaxing and peaceful. We have 20 guest rooms, all Japanese style, with tatami floor (straw mat), fusuma (sliding doors covered with paper on a wooden frame), and futon (a set of Japanese mattresses and quilts). 13 rooms measure 8 to 12 tatami mats, with bath and toilet. 6 rooms also measure 8 to 12 tatami mats, with toilet but no bath. 1 double room, called Asian room and decorated in Japanese style, is for customers who prefer to sleep in bed. All rooms have TV, A/C, phone and towels.

The dining room, Classic Auberge, is a restaurant favored by many customers from the local area. We offer Japanese food, French food, etc. We also have a classic and fancy Japanese-style restaurant, Ryoutei, which is the size of 100 tatami mats. With a Japanese garden outside, paintings and writings of famous people from the past, who stayed at our hotel, the Ryoutei is also an art gallery. We also have private rooms for smaller groups of people.

There are 3 public hot spring baths, all can be reserved for private use. 2 of the baths have tatami floor, and 1 has wood floor. You will find ofuro (Japanese style bath) very relaxing and enjoyable.

We offer mini-tours of our hotel, introducing the paintings and writings left by famous people who once stayed at our hotel, such as Japan's 26th prime minister Giichi Tanaka, artist painter Hokkai Takashima from the late Meiji era, etc.

We speak English and Chinese, and we warmly welcome guests from all over the world.
