Hidden in the Amazonian Rainforest, Banana Lodge is situated directly on the tropical Misahualli Riverside and is easy to reach as it is located in just a 10 minutes walk from the center of Misahualli village. It offers activity packed tailored jungle tours and clean spacious rooms with plenty of natural light, surrounded by a fruit garden. Rooms at Banana Lodge have a majestic view to river Misahualli through its ample windows. All are protected with mosquito nets, have ventilators, tables, orthopedic matresses and practical tiled floors. They are equipped with en suite bathrooms with hot water (except of bungalow), and guests can make use of the free on site parking and internet WiFi. An American breakfast with fresh bread rolls, natural juices and jams is served daily. Guests can use the barbecue facilities or relax in hammocks with a beverage in front of the cozy fireplace. It is possible to swim or fish in the river right from the hotel. For its green isolated location you can enjoy sounds of tropical nature at night like frogs, insects, river, etc. Guests can enjoy a trek through the jungle to visit the kichwa community, where they will see preparation of indigenous food and watch folkloric dancers. They will also canoe ride on Napo River and visit the butterfly farm. Tours are available in both English and Spanish.
Directions
The village is reachable on a bus from Quito which leave daily at 11.30 am from the bus terminal Quitumbe - Cooperativa Amazonas. This is the only direct bus which arrives to Misahualli at 5.30 pm. Or you may travel to Tena and get a bus to Misahualli which leaves every hour (except the night hours) from the same bus terminal. It is also possible to travel from Bai os or other places to Tena and change the bus in the terminal.
