Pousada da Diva is currently considered the 'cradle of caving in Brazil.' For over 40 years in the region, is a reference point for anyone wishing to know the PETAR.
The inn appeared on the necessity of hosting the explorers who came to the region PETAR in the 60s. The founder and former employee of the park, Vandir de Andrade, who was guided by these groups trails and caves while hosting them in his house of cob wall.
The years passed and beyond the explorers began to come also the conventional tourist looking for peace and greenery. The inn has grown to a capacity of over 200 people. Directions
Petar is located in the southern state of Sao Paulo, including the municipalities of Iporanga and Apiai .
From Sao Paulo or Curitiba, the best way is by Regis Bittencourt (BR 116), to the city of Jacupiranga. Then you must follow to Eldorado (Devil's Cave) and Iporanga. Passes through the center of Iporanga and then goes to the Bairro da Serra (Nucleo Santana). There are about 13 km of dirt road to the hostel.
Much attention in the stretch between Eldorado and Iporanga (80 km). The road is winding, with animals on the track and with little movement. Do not abuse the speed. There are several points where the phone has no signal and no gas stations.
