Meet at Emerson Point Temple Mound and discover how the ancient Native Americans lived. Work with replica tools and see how they were used. An optional add-on is dip netting in the grass flats on the Manatee River at the base of the mound. Collect, identify then release the animals that begin there life cycle here in the "nursery of the sea". Or enjoy the nature trails through the oak hammocks and uplands of Emerson Point Preserve.
Join us in the grass flats of Sarasota Bay at Ken Thompson Park. We will collect, identify and release marine animals. The grass flats are the nursery of the Gulf of Mexico, everything we catch is small and safe. Typical tour is 2-hours or so (depending on your kids interest level) and includes your own professional Master Naturalist Guide and all equipment needed for a real Florida adventure. Dip Net tours are best scheduled at low tide, so times may vary.
