This is simply the best day excursion on a boat you could ask for ... the day begins at 10.00am downstairs at the Tango Pension.

Stroll to the lakefront where Sahin’s boat awaits you and begin your tour. Cruise the waters of Lake Koycegiz to the channels, through the reed causeways and past the magnificent Lycian tombs which were carved into the rock face up to 3000 years ago.

You will have the opportunity of visiting the ruins of Caunos or heading straight to the wonderful sandy expanse of Turtle Beach (Caretta Caretta) where turtles lay their eggs from March to September. Who can resist swimming in the beautiful blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea? Enjoy the excellent lunch on the boat before motoring back to Koycegiz via the world-renowned mud baths and hot springs. Take a dip in the springs and slop dollops of mud all over your body... the waters here are rumoured to aid in the treatment of rheumatological and gynecological ailments as well as decreasing stress and increasing sexual prowess.

Don’t mind the smell... just hop right in! Continue on your homeward journey, stopping for a swim in the lake and watch the sunset over the mountains as you dock. An exhausting but thoroughly enjoyable day and an absolute bargain.

There is better way to view the spectacular mountain range that surrounds Lake Koycegiz than by a moonlit night cruise.

Step aboard Şahin’s boat for one of the best experiences you will have at Koycegiz, departing approximately 22.00 o’clock there are two options available to the happy traveler

Take a carefree cruise on the lake while enjoying some refreshing beverages and great company, after crossing the lake you have the chance to savour the delights of relaxing in the sulfur hotsprings and taking a refreshing dip in the fresh cool lake itself.


OR

Cruise around the lake taking in the all that this area has to offer, brilliant stars, glorious moon and of course plenty of swimming, laughs and good times had by all.


Each cruise is approximately three to four hours and will set you back 8 pound. Drinks are supplied on the boat at hostel prices or for an extra special treat, a punch can be mixed up fresh on the boat for an extra 1 pound each with your first beer free.
