Go shopping the next day and end your weekend with a scenic drive along the famous and historic American Route 66, a great way to travel New Mexico. Don’t miss out on Albuquerque’s main attraction, hot air ballooning. Albuquerque is the hot air balloon capitol of the world and hosts the world’s largest hot air balloon festival every October, which is attended by thousands of international visitors.

Finally check out the state capitol, Santa Fe, where you can take a scenic train ride, shop at an outdoor market, and try some of the delicious local fare, inspired by traditional Mexican cuisine.
