Active Adventure

Depending on the season we will be fishing for Coho, Chinook, Lake Trout, Steelhead trout or Brown Trout. Usually we catch more than one species and have caught all 5 in one day. Spring trips are nearshore, often in protected bays. By summer the fish school up in cool, offshore waters 5 to 15 miles offshore. Depending on your preference, I can do everything but crank in the fish for you, or let me show you the gear and then you go for it yourself. I run a fishing service, not a fish market!

Typical Day

Spring and fall/half day trips are fine. In the summer, longer trips are usually more fun. Once we get to the fishing area which requires from zero time to as much as 45 minutes in the middle of the summer, multiple lines will be set for trolling using downriggers, planer boards and other specialized tactics. As many as 15 lines can be trolled, usually fewer since most often the fish start biting before we can get everything set. By the time we get back to the dock, you'll be a seasoned "pro" at Great Lakes trolling.

Age range, type of group

Any age. I encourage family outings by offering a discount to married couples, father/kids, grandpa/grandkids. Don't forget a fishing trip makes a great birthday, Christmas or Father's day gift!

Sleeping and meals

Shore or box lunches can be arranged or bring your own snacks and drinks. Discounted motel arrangements available.

Rates

$150 to $440 depending on number of anglers, length of trip and services desired. Average is $225.

Other Information

We will be fishing in either Indiana or Illinois waters of the lake. I carry fishing licenses for both states on the boat.
