St. Agnes Inn is located in a 100 year-old three story home that originally was a boarding school for girls known as St. Agnes Academy. It was run by the Sisters of Mercy order and operated until 1950. Transformed into a beautiful bed and breakfast, the Inn now features an elegant Victorian downstairs parlor, a gracious dining room and five guest rooms each with a private bath, queen or king-size bed, cable TV and VCR. The Inn has a large collection of videos and an eclectic library to delight any guest. Stepping out on the spacious deck you are surrounded by the landscaped garden of the Inn and soothed by the sound of the waterfall in the water garden. A delightful garden spa can surround you with swirling water that will relax tired muscles and make the stress a thing of the past.
Each room and suite has been named in a way that is significant to the Innkeepers. The Vail and Denning rooms each are beautifully decorated, with king-size beds and private bathrooms with shower. The third floor Bird's Eye View Suite sleeps 7 comfortably, has its own kitchenette and a private setting room with room to relax. This has proved a popular suite for reunions, groups traveling together or families wanting plenty of space. At the back of the house, the Stanfield Suite is decorated with a Deco look, has its own small setting room and can sleep three. The private bath in this Suite features a wonderful footed bathtub with brass hand-held shower. This suite is joined to the Huggins room by a comfortable setting room known as the Hunt Parlor because of the way it is decorated. The Huggins room is a delightful jewel with queen-sized bed and private bath with footed tub.
St. Agnes Inn is operated as a traditional Bed and Breakfast. The dining room is open for a delicious full breakfast each morning there are guests in the Inn. Special lunches or dinners are available by arrangement; including intimate candle light dinners in the guest rooms. Each room is furnished with cable Television and a VCR. The Inn has a large collection of video's and an excellent eclectic library. The large deck at the rear of the house overlooks the landscaped garden and water garden of the Inn. A spa is located at one end of the deck. Arrangements can be made for guests to sponsor a cook out on the deck for a small group of friends. These can be catered by the Inn or guests can make their own arrangements.
For the business traveler a computer, FAX and Email are available in the Inn office.
The Inn is available for small weddings, receptions, meetings, parties, reunions or church retreats. Again, these can be catered by the Inn or guests may simply use the Inn's beautiful facilities. Space is limited, however. Innkeeper Maxine Huggins will also prepare delicious St. Agnes Inn breakfast to go with advance notice.
Guests usually eat together in the lovely Inn dining room, but with advance notice breakfast can be served in the guest's room. Romantic intimate dinners can also be served in the room, or dining room, with at least 24 hours notice. For business guests, a Continental breakfast is available if they would prefer something lighter.
Although the Innkeepers love pets, the Inn is not suitable for any pets. Smoking is allowed on the deck or front porch only. Parents should realize the Inn has three floors with stairs and a water garden in back. It is not usually enjoyable for parents with small children whom they would have to constantly watch to stay at St. Agnes Inn. Older children usually are no trouble, however, if supervised.
The Inn is open year-around and seven days a week except for rare occasions when the Innkeepers just have to "run away" for a short while. Reservations are required and will only be confirmed when guarenteed by a credit card or check sent in advance for 1 night's lodging. A cancellation policy has become necessary in which 1/2 of a night's lodging will be charged if cancellation is within 24 hours of reservation if the room cannot be booked within that time. Rates are: $75.00, $85.00 and $100.00 plus $10.00 for each person over two in one of the suites.
