Half Moon Bay is a semi-private area, hosting personal homes and condominiums, just to the north of the main Bay at Akumal. Originally developed as a private Scuba Diving community, Akumal is now open to anyone who loves nature and the sea.

2 Scuba Dive shops on Akumal Bay offer Morning, Afternoon and Night dive trips, training and equipment rentals.

A Kid's Kamp operates daily on Akumal Bay.

2 convenience stores near the entrance to Akumal for groceries and liquor. A Laundry service is next to one of the stores.

Snorkeling in Akumal Bay, Half Moon Bay and Yalku Lagoon. Lots of living coral and abundant sea life (including turtles!).

Description of Vacation Rental Property

Enclosed property of 24 condominiums and 4 villas at the northernmost point of Half Moon Bay. Restaurant and Reception building are located at the roadside. The interior courtyard leads to Akumal's largest swimming pool. A shaded plunge pool is near the shore, tucked underneath La Iguana Condominiums. A terraced beach (with chairs and palapas) leads to wonderful snorkeling just inside the reef, where the waters rarely exceed 10 feet in depth.

Interior finished in stucco and tile.

Almost 37 feet of floor-to-ceiling glass, affording the best views in Akumal.

All 3 bedrooms have a king size poster bed and a private bath.

The living room features 2 sofas, a loveseat, card table and wetbar.

The fully equipped kitchen, including Gas Stove, Microwave, Toaster, Blender and Refrigerator, allows for meal preparation and the dining room table seats 8.

Entertainment can be provided by the CD/Cassette/Radio boom box or the TV/VCR (VHS)/Satellite Dish - not to mention the Caribbean!

Cooled by ocean breezes and ceiling fans.

The Penthouse is located up 3 flights of stairs. There is no elevator.

We ask, but do not insist, that our guests refrain from smoking inside the Penthouse.

Weeks run from Saturday to Saturday.

Direct from owners pricing:

High Season 2000/2001 weeks are $1575 US

Low Season 2000/2001 weeks are $1050 US

Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's weeks higher.

From Cancun International Airport:

60 Miles south on Highway 307 to the Playa Akumal turnoff. Head east into the gate at Akumal Bay.

Once inside Akumal, follow Yalku Road to the North, until you see a sign for La Sirena y La Iguana Condosuites.

Check in at the reception office, below La Sirena Hemingway Restaurant
