Description of Surrounding Area

"Menteith", the Scottish home of the clan Graham, is in the green belt surrounding the city of Christchurch, and offers rural and mountain views, with easy 15 minute access to the city/airport. Lincoln University and golf course are 3 minutes drive and there are many good reasonably priced restaurants nearby. Akaroa and its beautiful harbour and sea life is 1 hours drive as are the ski fields in the west. Surrounded by farmland, there is a rural peace for the morning birdsong.

Description of Accommodations

Our new modern home features stone pillars and marcrocarpa exterior with a light spacious interior. A feature of the design are the views into the heated swimming pool and spa conservatory from the gallery outside the guest rooms. Our 10 acres produce a crop and support a few bee hives for a tasty honey as well as a few sheep (for the hosts spinning). A large developing garden surrounds the house with mature trees, rose gardens and sweeping lawns..

Description of Rooms/Suites

Our Port Hills room with its magical view from the queen sized bed collects the morning sun while the Copland and Elie rooms with flexible king or twin beds look out onto the garden Each room has the convenience of tea and coffee making facilities together with a refrigerator and TV. All rooms arre provided with well equipped ensuite bathrooms, There are several quiet nooks to read a book or enjoy conversation. Laundry and broadband internet availabel for guest use.

Amenities

Many good restaurants, some at wineries, within 5/10 minutes drive. Golf course 3 mins. We are only 3 minutes from the village of Lincoln with its University. Petanque set available for use in the garden. Demonstrations of spinning and an opportunity to have a try.

Rates & Availability

Available all year.
Tarrif in cluding all taxes: Single occupancy NZ$135 - $170 per night. Double occupancy NZ$150-$190 per night. This tariff included a hearty cooked breakfast.

Directions

Going South from Christchurch city on SH1 at Wigram, Springs Road begins. Menteith is 9km from this turnoff, on the left and has a sign at the gate.
