Active Adventure
We are open 365 days a year 8:30am to sunset. Nestled beside beautiful lake Okeechobee, the view from altitude is spectacular. It is not uncommon to see the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and even Miami. Being right on the lake, you get the beauty of jumping over the ocean without the winds and clouds that usually go along with it. In fact the lake creates a “micro-climate” around the DZ that is known as the “lake effect”. The clouds roll in to the edge of the lake and then stop making a ring of clouds around the lake leaving a big blue hole right over the top of the airport. This keeps us jumping on countless days when all of the other drop zones aren’t.
Located 45 minutes from West Palm Beach and 1.5 hours from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, we are close to the best that South Florida has to offer. If you need a break form your skydiving vacation, you can go scuba diving, fishing, golf, hang out on the beach and even see the sights of Miami/South Beach.
Typical Day
Experience the thrill of free fall harnessed to a highly qualified instructor and accompanied by a freeflying videographer. The three of you will exit the plane at 13,500ft (2.5miles) above the earth and enjoy the exhilaration of freefall for a full minute while traveling at speeds in excess of 120mph, all the while the videographer is flying around you capturing on video of the experience within arms reach!! You are trained to deploy the main parachute at 5,500ft and then to steer the canopy to the landing area with the tandem instructor’s guidance. The canopy flight takes around 4-6 minutes and can be as exciting as you want. These canopies can be made to spiral and turn your way to the ground or fly along peacefully each ending in a graceful landing where your videographer is waiting. And from that point the next step is…..
AFP (Advanced freefall progression)
After advancing through 3 tandem skydives you will embark on a 15 level jump course that will enable you to skydive solo after its completion. Each level has objectives which you will need to carry out on your skydive before you can advance to the next stage. For example on level one you will be focusing on your body position and practice handle throws and by level 8 you will be diving from the plane head first and completing front and back flips. By level 14 you will be proficient in all aspects of stable freefall and canopy control. You will receive instructions via ground radio for the duration of your canopy control instruction, teaching you how to guide your canopy to the landing area. We give you intensive, thorough, fun coaching every step of the way!
