This classic country inn built in 1884 is an original , full-service inn located in the center of the 350-year-old National Historic Landmark village of Deerfield - just east of the Berkshires and close to Shelburne Falls, Northampton and Amherst, MA and Brattleboro, VT.

Three working farms, Historic Deerfield, PVMA' s Memorial Hall Museum, Bement School, and Deerfield Academy call this village home. Other area schools include Northfield Mt Hermon and Stoneleigh Burnham in Greenfield. Nearby attractions include Yankee Candle's flagship store, the Butterfly Conservatory, the Eric Carle Museum, the National Yiddish Book Center, the Basketball Hall of Fame, Springfield Quadrangle Museums, and the art museums at the Five Colleges of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts, as well as Mass MoCA, Williams College and the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown.

Right in the village visitors can walk the mile-long main street to visit the 14 museum houses and Flynt exhibition center of Historic Deerfield, and PVMA's Memorial Hall, the oldest museum in New England.

Situated on the Mohawk Trail (the first scenic road opened for touring in the fall of 1914) in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, this little part of Franklin County known as the Happy Valley is a paradise on earth with its bountiful produce, tranquil farmland beauty, and friendly folk. Just 50 minutes from Bradley International (BDL) in Hartford, CT, and 2 hours from Logan Airport (BOS), you will find theater, concerts, old bookshop browsing, antique stores, arts and crafts shops, outlet stores, gift shopping, and whitewater rafting. Guests can also enjoy nearby boating, fly fishing, skiing and golfing, and summertime swimming in the gentle river.

Rates range between $145 and $248. A third person in a room is $40.00 - State and local rooms tax is 9.7% These rates include breakfast. For your convenience a service charge of $4.00 per room per night will be added to your bill.

Directions

If you're coming from Boston or points north

Route 2 West to Greenfield, at Greenfield take Route 91 South to Exit 25. At the end of the ramp bear left. At the STOP sign go left again
You will be on routes 5&10 N. You will drive five miles. On the right is a sign for Historic Deerfield and the Deerfield Inn. Coming up on the left will be a Sunoco service station. Take the left immediately before the Sunoco. Where the street forks, bear right. The Inn is half a mile down on the left, a large white-pillared wooden building.
OR
Take I-90 West to I-91 North at Westfield to Exit 24. At the end of the ramp bear right and you will be on Routes 5&10 North. Follow the above directions from this point.


From Points South - Springfield/Hartford Take I-91 North.

In Mass take Exit 24. At the end of the ramp bear right and you will be on Routes 5&10. You will drive five miles. On the right is a sign for Historic Deerfield and the Deerfield Inn. Coming up on the left will be a Sunoco service station. Take the left immediately before the Sunoco.
Where the street forks, bear right. The Inn is half a mile down on the left.

Directions from Hadley/Amherst

Take Route 9 to 116 North. At Routes 5&10 go right (N) for 5 miles. On the right is a sign for Historic Deerfield and the Deerfield Inn. Coming up on the left you'll see a Sunoco service station. Take the left immediately before the Sunoco. This brings you into the village. Where the street forks bear to the right. The Inn is half a mile down the street on the left.
