Description of Surrounding Area

Denma Farm is located in The Falls, a tiny farming community on Route 311, 25 minutes from Truro, 10 minutes from the village of Tatamagouche (and the ocean), 1 hour and 15 minutes by car from Halifax International Airport, and 45 minutes from the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island.

The Falls is named for the spectacular waterfalls, a short hike or a 5 minute drive from Denma Farm, where cooling natural pools offer the perfect sanctuary on a hot summer's day or a frozen natural wonder in the winter.

The country road to Tatamagouche passes a horse farm and climbs the Cobequid mountain ending at this unique 165 acre property. Pass over the creek as you enter the drive and are welcomed by the pear and apple trees surrounding the house. When you turn off the car engine, this will be the last engine you hear as you tune into the cricket and birdcalls of a Nova Scotia summer.

The sight of eagles might startle you on your morning walk through the fields and woods. For a lunchtime swim, indulge yourself in one of the four spring-fed ponds, or answer the call of the sea, a short drive away. For cocktails, sit on the deck and listen to the brook while you plan your next hike to the waterfalls or an outing to one of the nearby championship golf courses.

Description of Vacation Rental Property

Denma Farm was totally renovated in 2000 and provides comfortable, simple elegance for up to 10 people in 1,950 square feet. The 165 acre property is surrounded by miles of woodland and fields providing for unlimited exploring. Its hilltop location offers a panoramic view ending at the Northumberland Strait.

Sleeps & # of Bedrooms

The house has 3 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom and 1.5 baths on the second floor. There is a separate suite, with a couch that folds out to a queen-sized bed for 2 people on the ground floor with its own kitchen and bath. Are you an artist or writer or musician? The suite could be your perfect studio! There is a washer and dryer in the basement.

Amenities

Interior spaces: first floor: living, dining, kitchen, entrance hall; second floor: 3 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom, a full bath with separate jacuzzi tub and stall shower, a half bath with sink and toilet, and an open work area. Also on the first floor - a separate suite, with kitchen, full bath with tub, separate entrance and interior door to main house, sleeps 2+. The basement opens out to grade level where there is an outside shower. It also has a laundry with washer & dryer and a half bath.

Furnishings: simple country furniture throughout. TV & VCR in living room. All linens supplied (Except beach towels and plastic mattress covers - please bring own if needed), fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, self-cleaning oven, fridge, and microwave.

Rates & Availability

Between June and September the minimum stay is one week, from Saturday to Saturday. Cost is CD$1,500 or US$1160 (Denma Farm accommodates up to 10 people). 15% HST (sales tax) is added to all charges (residents of countries other than Canada can reclaim taxes when they leave Canada).

October to May, the minimum stay is 2 nights and the rates are CD$135/US$105 per day, or CD$900/US$700 per week. 15% HST (sales tax) is added to all charges.

Upon booking, a 50% deposit is due, with balance payable as per Rental Agreement. Check-in time is 4:00pm. Check-out time is 10:00 am unless otherwise agreed.
