The trans-SAHARAN Camel Caravan Trade Routes of the 9th century carried salt, gold, slaves and spices from sub-Sahara Africa to the Mediterranean ports and the Middle East. Its Capital or mustering point was Sijiilmassa, present day Rissani. Appreciate and Remember the Gracious Personal Service in your Luxurious Surroundings of a Ryad to a Humble Welcome in Our Berber home in the Desert with the family and sharing of Cous Cous. Watch the woman cook and prepare their brown wheat bread. Begin your 12-Day Adventure in Marrakech with a luxurious stay in a restored palace (called ryad or riad) within the medina. Have a guided tour of Marrakech for the day followed by a Berber Horse Battle with Dinner- "Fantasia" .. Travel the next morning by vehicle with English speaking driver/guide for 2 days (stopover in Todra Gorge by the river in moderate hotel with dinner and breakfast) across the High Atlas Mountains, gorges, the Kasbah trail, Oases, and Berber villages to Merzouga, in the Sahara Desert, where you travel by camel for 6 days. Last night is at our new desert hotel by the sand dunes HAVEN LA CHANCE DESERT HOTEL. Next day, travel to Fes through the Ziz Valley and Atlas Mountains to your luxurious ryad. Fes is the most Imperial City of Morocco !! Attend the best folklore show in Morocco with a Fassi Dinner and meet your offical guide. The next day, a special Tour of Fes- the history, culture, and craftwork of this ancient city will be explained, That night, dinner at the ryad. Next day, travel to Casablanca to 4 star hotel with a visit to Volubilis- a 27 B.C. Roman ruins.Following day, departure to airport. All food and drinks are provided on the Camel Excursion and are prepared by your local Berbers. Mint tea (Berber whiskey they call it) is quite a ritual after the fire has been made. Then tangine and stories under the 1001 stars of a black sky. Some meteorites and many shooting stars. If there is a sandstorm, don't worry. The nomads will help out. Perhaps you shall share a meal and stay with them. Back in the villages, you shall also meet some local Berbers where you can appreciate their customs, culture, and handicrafts. Many people in the villages were nomads so this is a unique area. It is a real privilege and honor to be welcomed in their homes. All Transportation, Hotels and Accommodations and Meals Included.. Bedding etc provided for Camel Trip. Buy your own toilet paper, as there is only Nature's facilities in the sand dunes!!.

Policies & Restrictions

Being ably to walk or ride a camel is the only restriction for this trip.Or one person could hang out with the Berbers at our hotel Haven La Chance Desert Hotel and the other could take the camel excursion. alone... Emjoy our new Swimming Pool!!

Rates

2335 $ USA Dollars for each person. Price is based upon 2 persons in the tour. We will adjust price for extra persons included in group. It is imperial to watch currency changes and convert Euros to USA$.We can arrange trips for 1 person only or more with corresponding change in rates. Other Information

Official English speaking guides in Fes and Marrakech. English speaking Driver/Guide throughout trip. Your Camel Driver may speak SOME English but everyone seems to manage and seems to enjoy to experience of sign language and gestures!! In the desert, there are English Speaking Family members to make you feel comfortable. Perhaps meet Nomads on their travels and share a meal. we provide a small oasis campsite fr a more intimate experience. No "Tent Cities" . camel riding is Different to Horse Back Riding!!!
