A unique combination of guest house, sports bar, and indoor sports facilities (indoor soccer, badminton, squash, sauna) is awaiting you, situated right in Essen at the very heart of the 'Ruhrgebiet', the Ruhr area, in the atmospheric ambiance of historical 'Zeche Fritz' coal mine dating back from 1859.
Characteristically situated inside the extensively modernised ancient pithead building of the former mine, goalfever Sports & Guest House offers you to stay where 4,000 miners used to start and end their working days from the mine's inauguration in 1859 to its close-down. Come catch a glimpse of what life must have been like back then!
In the comfort of your room, you dream of your touristic discoveries. Energised with a hearty breakfast, visit the industrial monuments of the 'Revier'. Or enjoy the natural scenery, get active, or check out the area's myriads of events. After an exciting day and a tasty dinner, relax at our goalfever Sports Bar.
