Daphne is a new way to stay in Rome. We combine elegant accommodations with personalized service and surprisingly affordable rates to give you a more complete travel experience.
We offer spotless, air-conditioned rooms and really comfortable beds, wonderfully located in the historic centre, just minutes on foot from the Trevi Fountain. There is a metro station and a taxi stand right on the plaza.
You will find fresh fruit and pastries with your coffee in the morning, wireless Internet service, and a cell phone to use during your visit with us. We focus on customer service, not on expensive lobbies and unnecessary extras.
We have two locations at Piazza Barberini, about 3 minutes' walk apart. Each is around one minute's walk from the Barberini metro stop, and 5-10 minutes' walk from the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Both are on quiet side streets, with wonderful shopping and dining nearby. We have two delicious pizza-by-the-slice places right by us, and a small grocer on the street behind us.
Please be aware that the facilities are 100% non-smoking.
Directions
From Fiumicino airport: Take the train to Termini station. The trains run every half hour from Fiumicino, and cost 9.50 Euro. We can also arrange for taxi service from or to the airport. Rates depend on the number of people and amount of luggage (55-90 Euros.)
From Ciampino airport: Take the Cotral bus service to Anagnina Metro station. The buses run about once every half hour. From there, take the Metro Line A all the way to the Barberini metro stop. Alternatively, Ryanair and Easyjet both run buses from Ciampino to Termini train station, which leave roughly half an hour after their flights land. See http://www.terravision.it/ for more information. We can also arrange for taxi service from or to the airport. Rates depend on the number of people and amount of luggage (55-90 Euros.)
From Termini: Take the Metro line A towards Battistini. (Metro tickets cost 1 Euro coin, and can be purchased in Termini station at any of the tobacco shops or newspaper stands there. Try to get the tickets before you head down to the entry of the metro stop. There, you have to buy your tickets from a machine and it requires exact change, which can be frustrating.) Go two stops to Barberini. If you prefer to take a taxi from Termini, it will cost around 8-10 Euros. DO NOT ACCEPT A TAXI RIDE FROM ANYONE WHO APPROACHES YOU. These people will charge you from 20-40 Euros. Stand in the line and wait for an official metered taxi. Please note that as of 10 January 2005, Rome's Metro Line A does not operate after 9:00 PM until further notice.
Getting to Daphne from the Barberini metro stop: When you come up out of the escalator, exit the station to your right. Take the stairs all the way to your far right towards via di san Basilio. When you come out of the Metro station, you will be standing on the corner of via di san Basilio and via Veneto. Walk about halfway up via di san Basilio to number 55. There is a small sign on the front of the building, and you will see 'Daphne Reception' on the door buzzer.
