He has only space for 12 guests so you are always assured of personal attention and his warm hospitality has tempted many travellers to change their plans and stay for just a little longer.
The property is selfcatering and remote so bring plenty of supplies, but a few "bare basics" may be purchased from him. Yummy pizzas come from the genuine wood-fired oven. Spice your cooking with free herbs from the garden .
It is well-suited to self-drive travellers but cars must be left down 200 meters at the driveway. For those who don´t have a car, Casa Valentina has its own bus stop, and hitchhiking with the locals is fun too.
If you stay for 3 nights, you get a free pickup from the trainstation and a guided tour through the historic center of Cortona.
How to get to Casa Valentina:
By bus and train:
Get off at Camucia-Cortona and take the bus up to Cortona (10min)
Take the Minibus at 14.05(not Sundays) or 17.45(not Saturday and Sundays) from the same place up to direction "Teverina" and get off 1 km before Casale. You have to ask the driver to stop.
By car
Coming from Rome:
Take the motorway from Rome with direction to Florence.
Get off at the exit to Siena /Perugia and take the highway to Perugia.
Get off at the exit Castiglione dell Lago
Go to Terrontola and to Camucia.
Than turn in Camucia to the right to Cortona.
Pass Cortona and take the road towards Citta di Castello, Portole.
In Portole take the road to the right towards Citta di Castello, San Leo di Bastia, Teverina.
There are every kilometre blue/white signs. When you pass sign km 15 go on for another 400 meter.
Than there is a small road up to the left.
Leave the car down at the street and walk up the small road.
After 100 meters you reach my neighbour's house.
In the yard goes to the left a road up to my house (200m).
Don't forget to bring a torch.
