We can take you on a whirlwind tour through 10,000 years of human history - - or spend intimate time examining your particular interest in Roman, Islamic, Christian or Nabataean cultures… We can fly you through a kaleidoscope of experiences by helicopter, adventure by 4x4 on the open desert, or move slowly and quietly through the immense mountains on horseback, camel, or on foot… Jordan Inspiration Tours is a family-owned tour operation based in Wadi Musa – the village which hosts the world-famous Petra Archaeological Park. The Hasanat family are Bedouin whose heritage in Petra reaches far centuries into Petra’s past. Sami al-Hasanat, founder of JIT and your host in Jordan, was a professional guide for over a decade; his experience inspired him to found a company which shows our visitors the true Jordan, the inspired heart of the Arab world. JIT is proud to endorse the principles of Responsible Tourism: we return as much of our costs as possible to the local people who host us; we are environmental activists, caring for the land which sustains us; we are educated and licensed guides and tour operators, working in cooperation with our parks and wilderness reserves.

Typical Day

There is no one typical day on a visit to Jordan – it depends on you. On an adventure tour we might set out down the King’s Highway and hike the deep canyons of Wadi Mujib or Dana – starting the morning in the Mediterranean highlands, hiking through waterfalls and forests, picnicking on giant boulders, and ending our day at an eco-lodge on the red granite Saharo-Arabian desert floor of the Jordan Valley…Or we might walk through the ancient city of Petra in the earliest morning, meet our horses near a Nabataean temple, and set out on horseback to see the traditional tomb-shrine of the Prophet Haroun (Aaron), returning to the village in the evening for a fine dinner and Turkish bath…Perhaps your passion is history: we’ll start with the mosaics, temples and churches of Jerash – the most extensive and best-preserved Roman city in the world. After a leisurely lunch of Lebanese delicacies in the lovely Mediterranean highlands, we’ll set out to the desert to see the black basalt city of Umm al-Jimal, early Islamic palaces and forts – or Crusader castles and Christian pilgrimage sites. It’s up to you.Roman cities, Islamic palaces, Nabataean Petra, the splendor of Wadi Rum, the vast silence of the eastern desert, Ottoman villages, Bedouin tents, Jewish, Christian and Muslim pilgrimage sites, Hellenistic temples, Dead Sea therapeutic spas, diving the coral reef of `Aqaba, hiking the great canyons of the Jordan Rift Valley, riding our peerless Arabian horses, journeying on camel back… and so much more. There is no one typical day in Jordan!

You choose.As for food, we can eat sushi or Italian food in five-star restaurants in Amman - - or traditional Jordanian food served in Jordanian homes. We can eat Lebanese delicacies in stately garden restaurants, fresh fish from the Red Sea, or grilled lamb over a fire at camp at the end of a day of trekking. You choose.JIT is pleased to accommodate vegetarian, macrobiotic, halal and kosher dietary preferences as well.
