The Lord Nelson Bed and Breakfast offers a quiet neighbourhood retreat, yet is only a five minute drive from downtown Victoria. Sit awhile by the gentle waters, just a block away. Leave those stressful deadlines across the water, and sail or fly to your Vancouver Island getaway. Stroll the oceanfront boardwalk and cliffside pathways, and sit awhile by the gentle waters. View the Olympic mountains while you picnic in one of our many parks, and just relax.

Description of Accommodations

The Lord Nelson Bed & Breakfast is located just one block from the oceanfront in beautiful Victoria, Canada. Our Tudor-style bed and breakfast offers perfect privacy for a vacation getaway to Vancouver Island. Backing onto the historic garden estate of its origins, the Lord Nelson Bed & Breakfast offers flower-filled garden courtyards in which to relax and soak up the gentle ambience of magical Victoria, British Columbia.

Our B&B features a touch of old English charm, elegance and serenity, with the luxury of modern conveniences and furnishings.

Description of Rooms/Suites

The Rose Suite - Our premier suite features over 700 sq ft of luxury and privacy. The quality queen bed sits in a carved wooden frame with matching bedside tables Wall sconces and a large gilded wall mirror accent the suite. A cozy gas fireplace faces the large living area with two sofas and a coffee table. The TV, VCR, CD player, stereo and phone complete the living room area. There's a dinette suite and several area rugs on the floating wooden floor. Chandeliers hang from the high Tudor ceilings, and iron and bathrobes are provided in the walk-in closet. Coffee and tea supplies and Britta water filter are provided in the full kitchen, which features a washer and dryer and provides a private entrance to the hot tub courtyard. There's a full ensuite washroom with double sinks, shower, bath and hairdryer. This suite is on the ground floor, has a private entrance, and in-room thermostats.

The Colonial Suite - The name says it all. Here is Colonial elegance with floating wooden floors and high Tudor ceilings. With private entrance, it has a private ensuite with double sinks, shower, bath and hairdryer. This spacious suite has a sofa and coffee table in front of a romantic gas fireplace, in-room thermostats, large screen TV, VCR, CD player, stereo and phone. Included are an iron and bathrobes. There's a kitchenette, coffee and tea supplies and Britta water filter, and dinette suite. The carved wooden bed has a quality mattress and wall sconces above. A chandelier, leaded windows and classy area rugs top it off. The Colonial suite overlooks the historic country estate behind us, and our lovingly tended back flower garden.

The Gardenview Suite - This Victorian Classic has high Tudor ceilings, wall sconces and an elegant cushioned window seat with leaded windows. The quality king-sized bed converts to twins to accommodate travelling companions. Included is a mini fridge with coffee and tea supplies and Britta water filter, and dinette suite. There's a TV, VCR, CD player, stereo and phone. The walk-in closets have iron and bathrobes. The room has in-room thermostats, a private ensuite with double sinks, shower, bath and hairdryer. It has a private entrance and overlooks the historic country estate behind, and Lord Nelson’s floral displays.

Take your time to choose a few of Victoria’s must-see attractions, but come home to the Lord Nelson Bed & Breakfast and soak in the private garden hot tub and watch a movie on a big screen TV or VCR, with popcorn. Perhaps enjoy a slow barbeque first, with relaxing CD’s, or birdsong all around. Enjoy squirrels balancing along their high-wire freeways, and delight in the many flowerbeds about the grounds.

We’ve taken cues from our guests to evolve our B&B. They find their experience to be like no other. Time after time guests tell us they will hardly be here, and just need a bed, but each night we hear them arrive home, one after the other soon after dinner, to enjoy a hot tub soak and a movie, or a quiet read in the gardens. Often we’ll go around a corner in the middle of the day to find someone sitting amongst the flowers, back for a quiet respite.

Always a setting to behold...

Our Victoria bed and breakfast accommodation is an experience in itself. Your hosts will serve you breakfast and provide insider information not to be found at other forms of accommodation. Interesting conversations around the breakfast table are an integral part of your stay, and furnishings and décor for each room are always personal; sometimes whimsical. Breakfasts will be home-cooked, with house specialties. Often there’s a novel request; an extra cushion for the dining table chair, extra butter for the popcorn, a spare toothbrush! Think of your hosts as favourite family, because that’s the way you’re treated.

Follow Hwy #17 south about 30 minutes. The street name becomes "Blanshard". and turn right on Pandora, proceed over the blue bridge, this is now Esquimalt Rd. turn left at Lampson and left again on Bewdley. We are 1032 Bewdley Ave.

From Swartz Bay (Vancouver Ferry):
Follow Hwy #17 south about 30 minutes. The street name becomes "Blanshard". and turn right on Pandora, proceed over the blue bridge, this is now Esquimalt Rd. turn left at Lampson and left again on Bewdley. We are 1032 Bewdley Ave.

From US Ferries in Victoria Harbour:
Blackball ferry (Port Angeles), Victoria Clipper (Seattle), Victoria Express (Port Angeles)
Turn left out of terminal onto Belleville St. Turn left at Government St. Turn left at Wharf St. Turn left at Johnson St. The street name changes to Esquimalt Rd after the bridge. Continue and turn left at Lampson St. Turn left again at Bewdley Ave. We are 1032 Bewdley Ave.
