Far from the distractions of everyday life, this elegant 50 foot sailing yacht has been converted into a private bed and breakfast. During your stay, no other guests are aboard. Anchored right next to shore, your getaway has endless possibilities: Exploring town, dining, shopping, walking, hiking, bicycling, swimming, or just relaxing on the water.

Description of Accommodations

Nestled deep in the mountains of Acadia National Park, the yacht has a personal water taxi service so you may enjoy Acadia's towns and attractions on your schedule. Just a cell phone call away, the personal water taxi will pick you up and bring you to and from the yacht. A free shuttle service is available on the hour to take you to distant parts of the park. Sailing packages are also available.

Description of Rooms/Suites

This spacious luxury sailing yacht books only one reservation aboard at a time so each of our guests can fully unwind and enjoy their vacation without any interruptions of other visitors.

Master Stateroom (Queen Size Bed)
The inviting glow of natural teak is found throughout the room. Inside the room, you will find a hanging closet with cedar, full length mirror, ample clothing storage, queen size bed, opening skylight, 3 opening windows and a doorway to your private bath and shower.

Master Stateroom (Private Bath)
Your private bathroom is accessed only by a door in the Master Stateroom. It features modern style plumbing, a well lit mirror, a marine toilet, a vanity for your use, towels etc...and the entrance to your private shower.

Galley/Kitchen
The galley has all the conveniences of a well-equipped kitchen on land. Here, we prepare all of the organic and natural meals featured in the menu with only the finest natural ingredients. There is a refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster oven and a large collection of organic and natrual seasonings and healthy oils. Due to the complex nature of the appliances, the galley is off limits to guests. One exceptions is the filtered water faucet where you can obtain fresh filtered drinking water at any time.

Living Room/Salon and Pull-out sofa
For extra guest accommodations, there is the sofa (settee) that pulls out into a full size bed. It is located in the living room, or salon in nautical terms. This room is the space inside the yacht where most activity takes place. Here you will find a couch and love seat, removable tables for dinner or drink service, computer desk, long windows extending the entire length.

Exterior/ On Deck
With such attention to detail inside, it is easy to forget that the most popular place to be when on the yacht is outside in the fresh air. Outside, we feature a roomy deck with plenty of space for sun bathing, yoga, or swimming/diving. There is a complete, clear enclosure that can be placed around the area under the white "roof" where you see the person steering in the photo above. Also in the enclosed area is a removable table that provides seating for 6 for dinner, all in an enclosed, rain and bug-proof room with a 360 degree view. The best times on Earth can be had watching a sunset from this enclosure.

Other Information

There are two ways to enjoy sailing while staying at BnB Ocean Escape.

First, you can take the boat out sailing at an hourly rate. This is popular with those who don't want to go out and spend all day sailing, but want to see what sailing is all about.

The second way to enjoy sailing is to travel to another destination with your bed and breakfast. We have several harbors we can visit which are within a day's sail from Bar Harbor. Some are quiet with no facilities and amazing amounts of nature. Others are charming little towns you can explore. Still others are full fledged islands you can only reach by boat, not available to the general public. To be clear, this includes the sail to the destination and the sail back the next day. Your night's lodging charge has already been paid for when you made your reservation to stay at our bed and breakfast, so there is no extra charge for that. This is the most cost effective way to enjoy sailing in Maine, since you don't need to reserve a hotel, then go out and pay for sailing on top of that. Longer trips to multiple destinations are available to those who stay for longer periods. The more nights you stay, the more destinations become available.
