Surrounding Area

The house sits on a 70 foot hill overlooking the Stillwater River out the back and the Beartooth Mountains from the front. The Beartooth Wilderness is a short distance away and offers just about anything for the adventure seeker or just relaxing. You can hike to Yellowstone or stay closer to home on one of our many Forest Service trails closer to the house. If hiking isn't your bag, try horseback riding, fishing, kayaking, whitewater rafting or even rock climbing. We have many local restaurants, shopping and bars, Fishing is abundant. We are down the road from the Historic town of Fishtail with the Cowboy Bar and the Fishtail Store. The larger town of Absarokee has bigger stores and some antique shops. Go a little farther to Red Lodge and the Gateway to the Beartooth Highway. Plan a day trip across the Beartooth, lunch in Cooke City. COme back via Chief Joseph Highway and have dinner in Red Lodge. The Montana Beatooth Cabin has just about something for everybody in the "Last Great Place".

Vacation Rental Property

The house is a new custom built hand-hewn log cabin built by local craftsmen and ourselves. It sits on 10 quiet and secluded acres and is surrounded by the majestic Beartooth mountains and overlooks the Stillwater River. The interior logs are very unique and all hand stripped. The house is decorated in Western style. We have abundant wildlife on the property. A herd of deer calls our yard home. Eagles and even bears call the canyon home. The master bedroom has a King size bed, private bath and entrance with beautiful views. Sitting area and large closet. The loft also has a private bath with queen bed and sitting area overlooking the river. There is also a covert-a-couch. Very large kitchen with corian countertops, all new appliances, large island and all utensils. A powder room is located off the kitchen. We have a pellet stove for when the evenings get really cold.

Sleeps 6 with 2-1/2 baths. One master bedroom and loft bedroom. Perfect for two couples.
