La Casa De Los Pinguinos

The 3 star hostal La Casa de los Pingüinos opened its doors in October 2007. The Dutch/Peruvian owners offer a variety of facilities to make sure your stay will be enjoyable.

The hostal is a three story building in a safe area within walking distance of the Plaza de Armas. The rooms contain comfortable beds with high quality matresses and duvets.

All nine rooms have cable TV, wireless internet and private bathroom with 24hours hot water.

We have family rooms available which we cannot offer through the system. These rooms have a double bed and single bed, suitable for 3 persons at a price of $35. You can book them by booking a double room and then informing us by e-mail that you need a family room.

The ground floor contains a bar and lounge to relax and on the second floor there is a living room area where you can watch DVD's of your choice or use our book exchange. There are also some games. Although the hostal is situated in the centre of town there is a spacious garden with hammocks and sitting area to enjoy.

La Casa de los Pinguinos have a big kitchen for the use of the guests in the bungalow in the garden and also the possibility to use the barbecue.

Spanish Cafe Arequipa is a language school that operates in the bungalow and garden. There are many courses to choose from or you can opt for just a 2 hour lesson to practice your Spanish.

Directions

Please make sure you take a taxi from within the gates of the bus terminal. These taxis are safe!!! The price is 5 soles.

Should you arrive by plane a taxi is around 15 soles from the airport to the hostal.

Please be aware that the Google map is wrong. La Casa de los Pinguinos is at Avenida Parra 110, exactly there where the flag is. But Google have mistakenly changed the name of the street in Alameda Mario Varga Llosa. No taxi driver will know this street, you have to ask for Avenida Parra!
