Golden Bay Retreat

Golden Bay Retreat is a 3.5 star, modern, sunny, 3 bedroom BnB/holiday home OR flashpackers homestay, plus, an adjacent self-contained studio motel chalet/bach. We also offer self-contained caravan rental & tent hire (your site or ours), meaning that we can accommodate up to 16 people if required.
Rent the whole 3 bedroom house privately (sleeps up to 8) &/OR the separate chalet/bach (sleeps 2). Alternatively, you are welcome to rent a double, twin or dorm room in the house & meet interesting people from around the world. Optional continental breakfast.
Built in 2007 on a ¼ acre. Located in a new rural subdivision, 2.5km from Takaka & beach. Free bikes. Pick up available.
Golden Bay Retreat consists of a character, 3 bedroom home, opening onto a deck & fenced courtyard garden, plus an adjacent self-contained studio motel chalet/bach with private kitchenette, ensuite bathroom, deck & its own separate garden area.

The main house features a spacious, open plan living room with wood fire. The large queen bedroom opens onto the deck & garden. This, the twin (OR 2 share dorm) & double rooms, all feature a shared bathroom & kitchen. When rented as a private holiday home, you may also use a single bed & single mattress in the living room (8 people maximum).

Separated by a fence, the adjacent studio motel chalet/bach is a private, completely self-contained love nest for 2 (queen or twin share), put the kids in a tent!.
Rent both the house and chalet/bach, for a complete group / family holiday (10 people maximum). And/OR, hire our self-contained caravan (sleeps 3 - double or twin + a single in the awning) The caravan & our large 3 person tent (1 double & 1 single bed), can be used either onsite (maximum property capacity, 16 people) or at the site of your choice (delivery available).

Directions

Arriving in Takaka from Motueka & Nelson on SH60, stop at the i-SITE information centre (opposite the Fresh Choice supermarket) & collect a free map, visitor guide & ask for directions.
To get to Takaka drive 2 hours North/West of Nelson on State Highway 60 (via Motueka).
