Surrounding Area

Papaya Playa is located close to the Mayan ruins of Tulum as well as Tulum town center. The ruins of Chichen Itza and Coba are just a bus ride away. Surrounding attractions include nature parks Xel- Ha and X- Caret, a great number of cenotes and many beautiful beaches as well as jungle activities such as zip lining.

Papaya Playa is an ecological hotel and follows are very natural concept. Our cabañas are constructed following the local traditions. The hotel is nestled amongst the trees, overlooking the white sand coast of the stunning Caribbean Sea. Our hotel caters to the guest seeking an alternative to big resort vacations. Our restaurant, bar and cabañas are surrounded by tropical plants and white sand walkways, creating a very informal and naturally ambiance retreat. We have created an environment where guests can rest mind and body, and where nature simple pleasures replenish the soul.

Papaya Playa has several types of accomodation, ranging from basic cabañas with shared bathrooms to more upscale cabañs with private sun decks and/ or bathroom as well as 4 beautiful villas with direct beach access and private bathroom. Prices differ according to room type.

Amenities

Papaya Playa has three dining areas, a beach club, sushi bar, swing bar, luxurious hanging beach beds, an 800m long beach, a sun terrace overlooking the ocean, beach soccer and beach volley court, three communal bathrooms and two communal shower facilities.

Room service is available upon request, massges are given either on the sun terrace, the beach or in the cabañas and villas. We have information on tours and activties do to in the region and multi-lingual staff.

Policies & Restrictions

It is not allowed to bring pets to the hotel. It is also prohibited to introduce food and beverages. We have smoking and non- smoking rooms. Check- in age for adolescents travelling alone is 18.

Rates & Availability

Our cabañas with shared bathrooms start at 25 USD per night, cabañas with private bathrooms start at 70 USD per night and villas at 130 USD per night (all prices stated are per room, not per person)

Directions

When arriving at Tulum town (with either rented car, taxi or public busses from Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Merida etc) you take a taxi (cost: 40 pesos) to the beach. You foolow the road towards nature reserve Sian Kaan. Papaya Playa is the second hotel after the curve that turns towards Sian Kaan coming from the center of town. It is about a 4 min drive.
