La Pinta is the best centrally located hostel in Bogotá with just remodeled facilities and excellent access to transportation. Located in the skirts of Zona G (Restaurant and Gourmet Zone of Bogotá), 5 minutes walk from the Lourdes Church, twenty minutes from downtown (ten in taxi), fifteen minutes from Zona Rosa and twenty minutes from Usaquén, this hostel is made so that you have the best experience in Bogotá.
The hostel has just remodeled and plenty of bathrooms, solid bunk beds with new mattresses and the best private rooms in town. With lots of common areas, like a living room with a chimney, big gardens with hammocks to take the afternoon sun or enjoy playing local games, a large shared kitchen and dining room a TV room with a collection of Colombian movies and video games, smoking terraces and a bar you can choose your area according to you mood of the day.
But by far the hostel's best asset is the atmosphere. La Pinta is run by Colombian backpackers for international backpackers. While staying with us you will interact with local people that live in the house and that will be more than glad to show you around town, teach you about our culture, give you advice on future destinations in Colombia and make of this your best travelling experience.
From the Airport or the Bus Terminal
When coming from the airport or the bus terminal we recommend that you take a taxi that leaves you in front of the door of the hostel, since from there transportation to any place in Bogotá can be quite complicated and there is no Transmilenio from these places.
Cost and duration:
From the airport: $17.000 Colombian pesos (COP) & US$8; around 30 minutes
From the bus terminal: $10.000 COP & US$5; around 20 minutes but depends on traffic.
From anywhere else in Bogotá
You can arrive easily to the hostel from anywhere in Bogotá since it´s located one block away from the Cra 7 (where there are public buses) and 8 minutes away from la Caracas (where there is Transmilenio).
By Transmilenio: Arrive to the Calle 63 station of Transmilenio in the blue line, Zona A - Caracas and walk in direction of the mountains (East). You should pass a big plaza with a church (Lourdes) and then arrive to a big grocery store called "Carulla". Cross the 7th avenue and walk to your left (North) 2 blocks until you get to the 65 Street. Take a right at the corner and walk half a block until you find a big pine tree that has a fence next to it. The hostel is located in a 3 story high beige and red house. Cost: $1.500 COP & US$0.75
By Bus: Take a bus that goes though the 7th avenue and get off at the 65 Street. Take that street in direction of the mountains and walk half a block until you find a big pine tree that has a fence next to it. The hostel is located in a 3 story high beige and red house. Cost: $1.200 COP & US$0.5
