bike tours are a good match for you. And just because you want to ride like a pro, doesn’t mean you have to be one to enjoy our trips. All routes are accompanied with a support vehicle.

Typical Day
Here's an example of our Day 3, Provence Trip: "This morning’s ride will start by heading north of Bédoin, where you will have your first glimpse of perhaps the most popular route up Mont Ventoux. We will head along its base and over the adjacent Col de Madeleine before descending into the town of Malaucène. We head home by way of three villages known for their famous Provence wine appellations: Séguret, Gigondas, and Vacqueyras."
Age range, type of group

The trip is best suited to avid cyclists who enjoy riding frequently. Our guests enjoy new challenges and adventures.
Even so, all of our trips are supported by both a van and a trip leader on bicycle, so assistance is always nearby. If you're done for the day, simply get in the support vehicle.

In Situ Travel (View My Profile)A Passion For Cycling and an Authentic Experience.
A Message From In Situ Travel’s Founder: Jace Gifford
In Situ Travel was born out of a passion for two things: Cycling and European Culture. After having worked for years with one of the largest active travel companies in the world, I realized that there was a need in the cycling tour business for the avid cyclist. Too often I would hear clients ask to ride longer or harder miles than what was on the standard itinerary. I also knew that if I was in their position, I’d prefer to get in a good ride early in the day, then have the rest of the day to explore at my leisure.
What people might not realize about many of the other cycling tour companies, is that they are more about sightseeing by bike than actually riding. One may ride a total of 50 miles during the day, but that ride will include sightseeing stops along the way (e.g. wine tastings, museum visits, shopping, etc.). To be sure, sightseeing from the bike saddle is preferable to traveling by car or motor-coach, but for the cyclist who enjoys the physical challenge of the ride, stopping for extended periods every 10 to 15 miles isn’t ideal.
Riding your bike and traveling in Europe is a unique and rewarding experience. Time should be taken to soak up the rich, cultural aspects each region has to offer. That is why we ensure that there will be plenty of time, off the bike, for you to explore. From my experience, that leisurely espresso at a local café is so much more enjoyable when I know that I don’t have to get back on the bike immediately to complete my ride for the day.
I encourage you to take a look at our bike trips and we hope that you can join us on a future tour.
Sincerely,
Jace Gifford
